Rim width must not exceed the maximum rim width specified by the manufacturer by more than 25mm (1") (for passenger vehicles manufactured after 1st January 1973, the manufacturers rim width shall be taken as that specified on the tyre placard).

In any event, rim width shall not exceed 177.8 mm (7") unless specified by the manufacturer as standard equipment for the vehicle in question. No increase in rim width is permitted for vehicles fitted with original equipment rims in excess of 177.8 mm (7") width.

The tyre to rim fitment must be in accordance with the Tyre and Rim Association Manual.

All wheels must be the same size, profile and bolt pattern.

incorrect, that's the old ruling, its since been replaced/updated.

read the 'National Code of Practice' for the current ruling.

i think that they should make a website or something stating how low you can go and what you can have permits for in your car or what you can put etc etc... my bad if they have this already

they do. its called the 'National Code of Practice', and covers everything to do with vehicle modifications.

google it and you shall find everything you need to know.

We even still have that in our "vehicle handbooks" (which has a section for vehicle modifications, so the 'old ruling' must still be correct in WA.

However, i don't really give two peanuts, so i'll just get over the pits on wednesday and then back to the way it was before minus the screamer lol

I just got a yellow sticker after seperating from the ddd cruise.

For : my blue parking lights at the front.

I wouldnt have been pulled if my fog lights didnt accidently come on though

So i am epicly annoyed that i have to go to the pits and make the efforttttt

I failed the pits on Wednesday for the tread on the rear tyres not being even due to camber wear (however, the rear tyres are not down to the inside markers yet, and the minimum tread depth level is 1.5mm, my rears have about 5mm left on them >.<), my blow-off valve being too noisy but its the stock BOV o.O, and my brake light in the spoiler not working ><

Oh well, at least i know they will only check these things when i go back over the pits :)

everytime ive had a sticker ive had to call the pits EG warwick and book it in.. not many places just let you rock up these days

this ruling went out about 3 years ago

ruling is now 1.25

ie:: r32 gtr stock runs 16 x 8 equates to 16x1.25 = 20 //// 8x1.25 = 10

therefore a r32 gtr can legally now run 20x10 rims

this was explained to me by Reno the head guy at welshpool pits when i got my gtr registered with 17x9's on it

    • Hey keep the ideas coming, I'm always keen on projects! But, problem fixed!  I got a cheapie ozito scope from Bunnings and had a good look in and around the bearing and sensor hole. I couldn't see a smoking gun but the bearing looked a bit strange, especially when comparing with a new one. I thought the cover had come off the bearing magnets.  Sorry for pics of a screen, I didn't have an SD card.     Good thing I had the old one to inspect. So, given I'm like a pit crew with wheel bearings and luckily I had a spare bearing because I f**ked up my parts order, I decided to just smash it out. Got the old one out in about an hour. So much easier when the parts haven't had a chance to rust together yet. 😂 And, well, found the problem.    In the second pic at about the 8 o'clock position, you'll see what I think is the tip of the old sensor.  The new sensor has definitely been rubbing but it's all intact, just a little shiny so I'm hoping it's fine.  The car brakes perfectly now and no errors.  I think the job took about 2.5h in the end. 👍🏻 I really appreciate the help in here as usual. Thanks guys.
    • I was only looking because I saw some drops on the ground but it wasn't alot. Recently had it serviced will ask the mech to confirm. Find it strange that it looks standard though, can see in another photo of a random box
