Oh, I forgot about the junkie bitch on Guildford Rd that was hanging out of the drivers door (while in the right hand lane), screaming abuse back at me while nearly having multiple head ons. I did the smart thing and dropped like 500m back from the crazy bitch.

Then there was the person in Northbridge that got out of the car with a boxcutter and had a swipe at my mates arm through the drivers door.

Perth is a fun place!

Yeah shit like that seems to happen way to often, I'll say what my dad says to me, NEVER GET OUT OF THE CAR.

Don't ever get out of the car when someone is doing shit like that. Just keep driving and like everyone else said GTFO of there!

These ppl are all tossers and are probably days away from wrapping their cars around trees or driving into power poles.

Forget about them, they are not worth it.

Lol you did get out of the car on the 2nd circumstance though hunny :) you were pretty angry to

So many d*cks on the road hey... I think it's time I start carrying something heavy within the car.. My mate used to carry this huge uhm... don't know what to call it... But it was a massive intricate knife thingy looks like it was out of a sci fi movie... haha sharp and dangerous kept laughing at him cause if the cops find it he'd get owned... but he had it cause he worked in freo and chance of getting bashed there? around 30% at night lol

I'd never be stupid enough to put knives/swords in the car. Only sports equipment would be practical. e.g. baseball bat, Golf sticks etc.

Hell after last night im thinking of investing in a set of bocce balls. Easy to throw and hard enough to break a window yet inconspicuous.

If cops ask why they're in the car, just say i love a game of balls. lol

You can only get away with a baseball bat if it's in the boot AND you have other baseball equipment to back it up.

I have a trusty 4 D-cell maglite

Not in a skyline But in my daily commo with kit n that. Had a truck Siting about 2 cms off my arse decided to floor it got some distance between us he come up and does it again. This was going on for about 10 kms down the hwy so i decided stuff it n just floored it got pulled over told the cops what happened. they went after the truck driver n let me go with out a speeding fine.

Another one was driving my old r31 cock head in a new model liberty tried to get past me on a merging lane he was at my rear quarter. I floored i he then proceeds to tail gate be flashing his lights abusing me goes to over take swerves at me i decided f**k it stuck my ground he then over took n slammed his brakes on so i went round him as i go past swearers at me again and tried forcing me onto the shoulder again hold my ground with him just off the side of my car. Got in front of him he proceed to chase me for about 20 Min's running red lights and nearly took out about 20 other cars. so i headed to the nearest police station to be told nothing they can do.

haha was thinking... probably not a good idea to state what your carrying in your vehicle. We dont want the popo not to believe we're all a nice happy bunch.

Oh but we are all a nice bunch!!!

You guys have a code (i think) but as a girl i have no quarrel with kicking a guy in the nuts if he starts on me

I had a situation driving to work a few weeks ago whereby this bitch in a camry was right up my ass the entire way up westcoast highway (right back from where it actually turns into WCH in cottesloe) always up my ass, trying to get past me etc. I wasn't deliberately blocking her or anything, there was a car to the left front and left rear of me in, you guessed it, the left lane, so clearly she couldn't pass me. She's sitting there high beaming, tooting flipping me off etc, but I don't budge for bitches like this. So keep going, eventually left lane clears up and she speeds past me, then gets caught up in the left lane and I'm still in the right, cruise past. We both go to turn off at Hale road and she's behind me, so I stop ,get out and say exactly this "Your a f**king bitch, you are whats wrong with society and you're the reason why people like me get labelled a hoon because of what YOU do. F**k you." went and got back in my car and drove off when the lights changed, she hung back and didn't tail me anymore.

That night, I was out somewhere but my wife gets a rather abusive phone call from some pissed off sounding english guy saying that I was threatening his wife and bashing her window etc etc wanting to know where I was and wanting to come round etc. Clearly she had taken down my plates and either she or he work for DPI or something because they were able to get hold of my home phone number. Fortunately nothing has come of it but it's a rather stark reminder that there are a LOT of F**Kheads out there.

Been tailgated very badly twice, once at night on Scabs Beach Rd by a 4wd, didnt brake but slowed to about 30...they stayed behind me instead of changing lanes. Sped back up....same again. They ended up following me for a bit more before turning off, I was thinking wtf??!! No traffic at about 11pm, I was just cruising at the limit in the left lane then they do that. The other was on the freeway nearing peak hour, right lane & a commo right up my arse so I made a hand signal for him to drop back, as there was absolutely no chance of him getting anywhere, then he flips me off. Flipped him the bird back & ignored him. He did drop back though, then he got into the next lane to the left & eventually dissapeared behind me....strange as f**k both of them.

Since I've been driving I've been lucky enough to have only been involved in 1 road rage incident, even though I could have started a couple if I wanted to. Closest I came was when a car, towing a trailer, failed to give way to his right at a roundabout. Bad enough I was completely on the brakes, but I shat when I realised his trailer was lagging...must have only just missed. I was tempted to keep turning & have words but I stayed cool & kept on my way. No idea if he even knew what he just did :P

As for my incident, turned right onto Whitfords Ave through the lights, nobody behind me. Went into the left lane but then changed to the right lane because it was way too slow...checked blind spot etc, once I was there looked into my rear view & there is a single headlight right up my ass. I was thinking where the f**k did he come from, as there was no-one behind me through the lights. At the next set he comes up ranting so I dropped down the window & copped the general abuse...then after I said sorry (wtf else could I say to him), he starts hitting his hand on the door. Then I told him "look mate, you must have been f**king flying from the lights to get where you were", then he goes onto some shit about having a f**ked knee from a driver that hit him. Then the lights went green, he's still ranting & as he takes off heard him boot my car.

Next set is red, and old guy pulls up next to me & says he seen what happened & gave me his number. I didnt prank or save the number & closed my phone so I lost it, so I chased the f**ker down Eddystone Ave. Realises its me following so gives it shit through roundabouts etc, but hey your not getting away from 400hp  Pulls into the shops, parks & jumps off his bike & starts going again before I'd even stopped. I get out, ignore him & walk around to the passenger side, and realise it was my mirror he kicked but I just had to snap it back, I thought he dented my door but luckily there was no damage. Then he's on about fighting over it (left his helmet on), but I was just telling him he's a dickhead. Told him again how he must have been flying, then he said "Maybe I was, it doesnt matter". Erm, yes, it does. Thinking back, I don't believe I cut him off (same speed, making him brake/swerve), I just changed lanes & he had to brake harder than what he did. Then that was it after I told him to f**k off.

My bro had a good one, had an excel that had big issues (apart from being an excel), and could only do like 40kph max trying to get it too the workshop. Some tradie in a ute was pissed off at being stuck behind him, so got into the emergency lane & hit his car with a spanner. There was a set of lights a bit further up, my brother was a few cars back but got out, ran up to his still open window & cracked him right in the face  Good chance of a broken nose my brother said because there was blood pissing out real quick. Nothing else after that, the tradie must have realised he was an idiot.

you guys have it all wrong... you have a weapon that is not a weapon.. it is called your car keys...

all you have to do is put them in your fist with a key poking out and punch the person in the face tearing it open and all you have to say is you had the keys in your hand and did not realise that one was poking out... they cannot prove either way so it is not a carried weapon and avoids all weapon laws.. i know some great lawyers

    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
    • So, what else.... Power. I don't know what it is making because I haven't done a post tune dyno run yet; I will when I get a chance. It was 240rwkw dead stock. Conclusion from the day....it does not need a single kw more until I sort some other stuff. It comes on so hard that I could hear the twin N1 turbos on the R32 crying, and I just can't use what it has around a tight track with the current setup. Brakes. They are perfect. Hit them hard all day and they never felt like having an issue; you can see in the video we were making ground on much lighter cars on better tyres under brakes. They are standard (red sport) calipers, standard size discs in DBA5000 2 piece, Winmax pads and Motul RBF600 fluid, all from Matty at Racebrakes Sydney. Keeping in mind the car is more powerful than my R32 and weighs 1780, he clearly knows his shit. Suspension. This is one of the first areas I need to change. It has electronically controlled dampers from factory, but everything is just way too soft for track work even on the hardest setting (it is nice when hustling on country roads though). In particular it rolls into oversteer mid corner and pitches too much under hard braking so it becomes unstable eg in the turn 1 kink I need to brake early, turn through the kink then brake again so I don't pirouette like an AE86. I need to get some decent shocks with matched springs and sway bars ASAP, even if it is just a v1 setup until I work out a proper race/rally setup later. Tyres. I am running Yoko A052 in 235/45/18 all round, because that was what I could get in approximately the right height on wheels I had in the shed (Rays/Nismo 18x8 off the old Leaf actually!). As track tyres they are pretty poor; I note GTSBoy recently posted a porker comparo video including them where they were about the same as AD09.....that is nothing like a top line track tyre. I'll start getting that sorted but realistically I should get proper sized wheels first (likely 9.5 +38 front and 11 +55 at the rear, so a custom order, and I can't rotate them like the R32), then work out what the best tyre option is. BTW on that, Targa Tas had gone to road tyres instead of semi slicks now so that is a whole other world of choices to sort. Diff. This is the other thing that urgently needs to be addressed. It left massive 1s out of the fish hook all day, even when I was trying not too (you can also hear it reving on the video, and see the RPM rising too fast compared to speed in the data). It has an open diff that Infiniti optimistically called a B-LSD for "Brake Limited Slip Diff". It does good straight line standing start 11s but it is woeful on the track. Nismo seem to make a 2 way for it.
    • Also, I logged some data from the ECU for each session (mostly oil pressures and various temps, but also speed, revs etc, can't believe I forgot accelerator position). The Ecutek data loads nicely to datazap, I got good data from sessions 2, 3 and 4: https://datazap.me/u/duncanhandleyhgeconsultingcomau/250813-wakefield-session-2?log=0&data=7 https://datazap.me/u/duncanhandleyhgeconsultingcomau/250813-wakefield-session-3?log=0&data=6 https://datazap.me/u/duncanhandleyhgeconsultingcomau/250813-wakefield-session-4?log=0&data=6 Each session is cut into 3 files but loaded together, you can change between them in the top left. As the test sessions are mostly about the car, not me, I basically start by checking the oil pressure (good, or at least consistent all day). These have an electrically controlled oil pump which targets 25psi(!) at low load and 50 at high. I'm running a much thicker oil than recommended by nissan (they said 0w20, I'm running 10w40) so its a little higher. The main thing is that it doesn't drop too far, eg in the long left hand fish hook, or under brakes so I know I'm not getting oil surge. Good start. Then Oil and Coolant temp, plus intercooler and intake temps, like this: Keeping in mind ambient was about 5o at session 2, I'd say the oil temp is good. The coolant temp as OK but a big worry for hot days (it was getting to 110 back in Feb when it was 35o) so I need to keep addressing that. The water to air intercooler is working totally backwards where we get 5o air in the intake, squish/warm it in the turbos (unknown temp) then run it through the intercoolers which are say 65o max in this case, then the result is 20o air into the engine......the day was too atypical to draw a conclusion on that I think, in the united states of freedom they do a lot of upsizing the intercooler and heat exchanger cores to get those temps down but they were OK this time. The other interesting (but not concerning) part for me was the turbo speed vs boost graph: I circled an example from the main straight. With the tune boost peaks at around 18psi but it deliberately drops to about 14psi at redline because the turbos are tiny - they choke at high revs and just create more heat than power if you run them hard all the way. But you can also see the turbo speed at the same time; it raises from about 180,000rpm to 210,000rpm which the boost falls....imagine the turbine speed if they held 18psi to redline. The wastegates are electrically controlled so there is a heap of logic about boost target, actual boost, delta etc etc but it all seems to work well
