I am not trying to have a go at anyone, but I just have not seen fusion perform. If its the right price yeah go for it. I am not at all trying to say i have the best stereo around, no where near it, but for example, the Fusion WRX just made 140 db with 3 15's and a hell of a lot of power at the 2003 jamboree. I would have thought it may have performed a little better.

My car got 148 db with two 12's at jamboree, and i had a few bugs that i have been iorning out.

Honestly good luck man, i hope it all works out!

Happy Stereo-ing

well its everyone to their own .. its their car so they can do what they like .. i agree that fusion is probably not the best for power and spl and even sq for that matter ... but u gotta agree that their green aliens are pretty cool :) .. but yeah in car audio theres always something thats better than something else ... if u really wanted some power u'd try and get some adires and all these other american brands u've never heard off ... well i can't wait to see this install ... should should kick my pissy diy install :(

Why two caps though?

I thought you need 1 farad per 1000wrms. that setup is around 2000 wrms looking at the amps (580x2 + 500x2 = 2160wrms) thats a lot of power. I'm running an mtx amp with a 0.5 farad cap, no diming lights!

Sorry if i offended or pissed anyone off. Just saw he was using eclipse hu and splits and thought must be goin sq setup, that's why i was kind of curious about why the fusion gear?

the fusion 12" powerplants perform really well if your after nice booming bass. i aint going for spl as my box wont be ported im just going for a big bass (if that makes sence). the eclipse splits and rear six inch's will compensate for the sq. sq is my first priority as it is a dvd deck. i'll be in adelide a few weeks after its finished and in warnambull next weekend (if its finished) so if anyone want to see give us a pm.

my ford has a 1 12" powerplant in it and i was quite happy with the results i got from that. 133db. ported box though.

i might of forgot to mention it before but dont quote me on the outputs and stuff. as for the caps.... 1 per sub will make sure it hits hard and strong first time and every time. ill get the exact specs hopefully to you today but most likely not until sometime next week.

With all due respect, dimming lights are a sign of bad system wiring and caps are a band-aid fix for a bigger problem.

Before you start buying caps, you need to have a good look at the wiring in the system. Then take a look at the charging system and power storage. If there is a problem, upgrade the battery and alternator before buying a cap. :P

You're right. But there was no dimming before the cap. It was just added just in case and the battery although not deep cycle is not standard. Some people with yellow tops and upgraded alts still run caps. Dimming lights are a bad sign but it doesn't happen to me :D All the wiring in my car is perfect (I've had a lot of practice) and also the wires are nice and short. Caps are only a band aid if you are having problems with dimming light before you fit 'em. But you are right if you are having electrical problems then look into the other parts first. A cap may not even help!

    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
