Ok,

Don't laugh! But I've used MS Paint to render the following 2 pics on my sedan.

I am after 19" rims and have rendered:

Immitation M3 rims, which need to be redrilled to 5 x114.3 by the tyre shop.....

Or pay an arm + leg for the Work Schwert SC2 rims...

If i opt for the M3s, they are a fifth of the price = I can buy them now...Or wait until next year to buy those Works ones...

Comments?

I may not be very experienced in this department, but why dont you look into a more VIP type rims? (sorry i dont know any names)...actually look into the older AMG rims and WALD rims aswell i think it would suite the sedan the best...

Out of those two i guess it would be the M3(if your redrilling, look at a M6 wheel, its a sweet a$$ wheel), the works ones just dont look THAT good....btw re-drilling?..how will that work + is it safe??

Personally I like the Work SC2 rims out of the two choices. I think xscape237 is getting a Coupe with SC2 20's on it. I thought they looked pretty good.

+1 on the drilling, how does it work? Doesn't the rim lose some strength?

Hey N15m0

Your car looks great, I have the dark blue.

Are you happy with the fit and drive? How far out is your speedo? What size and offset did you choose?

Regards

Andrew

Thanks. Fit and drive is great, can't feel much difference to my previous 18s. Speedo is not out. 19x8.5 +43 F; 19x9.5 +38 R. Front offset could have been better but beggars can't be choosers

245/40/19 fronts and 275/35/19 rears

So if u could have chosen, you would have went for a smaller + number, say +35F and +35R? Or even less? I can't make up my mind to what I want at the moment with regards to rim width, offsets, and tyre thickness...

And, looking at your car, 19s don't seem to be 'big' enough for my liking, or maybe it's just the tyres?

There's a special at the moment for the WORK Schwert rims, $2800 USD shipped + any taxes due from a supplier in Hong Kong...Details are:

19x9 +25 Front

19x10 +25 Rear

I don't know, it's all so 'confusing'....

You will definately have problems fitting those widths and offsets quoted above unless you are prepared to dump the car, run excessive camber and skinny tires.

19s on a V are probably the optimum size. Mine doesn't look THT big because I am not dumped. The lower you go, the bigger the wheel looks. Type of wheel also asscentuates the size. A wheel with a lip/dish appears smaller than one that does not. My rears are already sticking out by bout 10mm but I have rolled my inner guards. Fronts I could have gone an additional 10-15mm. I could write a whole book on this but in the meantime, have a look at the attached chart for guidance.

Thanks N15m0 (and mosoto)

Some great information, by that chart your rears should be sitting well outside your guards!

No worries. The chart is pretty conservative and does not take into account rolling guards, and lowering the car which produces natural camber. The limits can be pushed with the right setup :)

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
