Hi everyone,

Im Katie, just joined up. Moved here 4 months ago from Ireland with my boyfriend. Living in Brisbane. Currently in the process of re-building a r32 Gtst. She finally got started yesterday-music to our ears :) . Going to the paint shop soon and after a few 'slight' modifications  she should be out Aug/Sept time-fingers crossed.

This is the first Skyline weve had. Back in Ireland I was a BMW chick, had a e36 m-sport and then my wee baby e30 325i sport. My boyfriend has a white 87 ae86 sitting under a coverage in the garage at home aswell. If anyone is interested, I have loads of pics.

So back in Ireland, people with all sorts of modified cars meet up at the weekends and go for a cruise or a show, what happens here in Australia? We have spotted loads of class cars driving about but can never find them all in one spot.

Nice site by the way, hopefully get to know a few of the members during our stay here and get some Skyline advise (im sure we'll need it).

By the way, my boyfriend and I are huge driftin and diffin fans, we used to do it every weekend at home and are having serious withdrawl symptoms over the last 4 months, so if theres anything coming up soon let me know.

Thanks

Katie

Any pics of your AE71 would love to see it.

AE86s are cult cars at home. I think our here people stick 2lt turbo engines in them which is CLASS, they would be some pocket rocket then. At home though, they are usually kept standard 1.6 16v's but ours has a load of modifications on the standard engine. To name a few, lighted rally fly wheel, ported & polished & skimmed, set of rally cams and a few other bites and pieces. Heres a few pics anyway. Let me know what you think

The spotlights must be an Irish thing, 4 spots are a minimum requirement for ae86s at home, some people have 6 and and even 8 lol. How long have you have the 71?

What wheels are on your skyline in the last pics? The are exactly what we are looking for?

I had my AE71 for about a month, I wanted it as a daily car after my R32 got rammed from behind and pushed into the car in front of me.

It was at the panel beaters for about a month and half.

GTR is now all fixed and the Rolla is rolling on the road as a daily. :D + it save me a lot in petrol money.

I plan to lower it, get some nice Watanabe Wheels and roll the guards if needed.

Yes the wheels I have are TE37's in white. Check your thread as I have replied in it. :D

LOL!

OMG! Yes spot lights are a Irish thing. :P

Are the Spot lights just for looks or does it get very dark in IRL?

You on any other Corolla Clubs?

I am also on these 2 forums as well.

Spotlights are just for looks although in Ireland there are alot of illegal meets. We all gather up and go drifting or diffin and i suppose the lights come in very handy to light up the place. AE86s are used as a rally car over here and the weather in Ireland is so unpredictable you need your car to be ready for rain, snow, sun and everything so the spots are a rally look.

Havnt goned any toyota sites over here, just this site and just joined the boostcruising site 5 mins ago.

Your wheels are fab but they would buy use about 2 months rent so id say unfortunately we'll have to go for reps. :P

Those headlights are HUGE!. Hope you're not putting them on your 32 as well. Where about in Brisbane are you? If you're nearby you could probably dropby the Baskin Robin at Moggill road for a chat with the group that hangs out there every Thursday.

Yea a few people have mentioned the Thursday night ice cream meets, I had to google where Moggill road was :P and its only about 20mins away so deffo going to go to that when we get the car out. Id feel silly rockin up in the old sprinter or celica we have now lol. Deffo not puttin the spots on the R32 - by the sounds of it we would get deported for a crime against Nissan lol. Do many people go to the Thursday Meet?

The wheels came with the car when I bought it so it saved me from buying them. Hehe!!

I see, so you ppl in QLD have Ice Cream meet ups... Maybe cuz it's hot weather up there.

In Melbourne VIC, we have Kebab, Pizza, Roast Duck and Burger meet ups :ninja:

    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
