I was told that the Hicas is disabled on skylines that are imported into australia as it is illegal to have it on over here. Is this true ? If so can you get it turned back on again and how ?

It should be working. If it doesn't, then the previous owner has had it disabled with a lock bar.

So no lock bar then the unit should be working fine. Cheers

No light on the dash, and No lock bar = Working Hicas (most of the time!)

Though a lock bar is a good thing in my oppinion.
