My rant,

I found and did the deal for a V35, all the paper work for the credit app done. Jumping through hoops for what was to be a replacment loan for a evo I just sold. Then I get a call from my broker (after 2 weeks of paperwork) saying 'Sorry, Esanda dosent finance imports now, We thought it was a 350Z'. So they did a check of a few other companies for me and every one has either stopped dealing with imports or has made it very hard to finance (30% down ect).

Is this something that the australian auto industrie is pushing on finance comapnies?

had a similar problem when getting finance for mine through cba.. talk to the manager and say its a fcukn 350z ... exact same car.. dont be afraid to be an asshole.. esp coz u got nothin to lose

Hey.

Grab a personal loan (instead of car loan). Im pretty sure they wont give a crap what car it is. You will actually own the thing too...

Interest rate will be a bit higher tho.

I have to do it as CHP for work, otherwise I would just get it from my home loan. Westpack may be coming to the party.

Personaly I have never financed a car yet... well I did take out a cash advance from citibank for 5 K @ 2.9% to help get my V35 but I made sure it was all paid off before the 6 month teaser rate was over and the normal rate kicked in!

but otherwise funk paying +10% interest on something thats going to go down in value over time not up!

The car is a buisness expense and the intrest and the depreciation is a tax deduction. I will make more than 10% (not that my intrest rate is that high) on the money NOT tied up in my car. I just couldn't belive that Esanda wont cover imports anymore. I have had 4 cars with them and this was to be the 5th as well as the buisness is looking to change banks. Doesnt look like Im staying with ANZ.

Interesting--got to be be local automotive industry motivated , finance dosen't give a furry rats ass as long as the vig is payed.

Stupid farkers can't build/import the cars people want, so they obviously can't sell the shit so they decide they'll penalise the lunatic fringe, thats us, who buy grey imports (often because the industry was to stupid or greedy to bring them in in the first place.)

Now there's a smart move, that'll get us buying Falcadores, in fact I think I'll rush and get one now- ah hem. :P

And they wonder why they're going / gone broke.

;)

None of the banks are coming to the term I can get for an australian deliverd car which I need for work. Looks like the 350Gt is not going to happen for me :D

I had a look at 3 350Zs today that were in the same price range. All were clapped out with bad paint and very worn interiors so Im going to look at a few subies now.

I have a set of coilovers for it already too, anyone want a deal?

Hwy Jon how are you going?

I'm sorry to hear that you will not be able to get your V ;)

I am a Chartered Accountant and I got the loan for my V a couple of months ago through my work, we have a finance lending division at the firm.

We are based in Melbourne, but via emails and phone calls this can all be arranged.

I could get one of the guys from work to give you a call if you wish and see what they could do for you.......a last chance to see if you don't have to get rid of your coilovers :D

Let me know if you're interested, send me a PM

If you're not interested or if it is really too late, not too worry mate, just don't want you to miss out on such a great car that the V is!!!

Millos,

What type of loan did you get from your lending division and what is the % interest rate charged? I might be interested down the track if and when the price of V36 coupes become more reasonable.

Stupid finance companies/banks. This attitude was (almost) reasonable when grey imports weren't in the Red Book and difficult to get comprehensive insurance on .... but now they ARE in the red book (even the V35!), and are easy as to get full comp on, I can't see their issue ....

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
