Hi all, ive recently bought a R32 and when i went to get a roady they said it didnt have a import plate, all it has is the blue plate from factory and 2 mod plates, the car is registered and has been since 2007, but 1 of the mod plate dates back to 2005, what do i do? it's been resprayed so maybe they took it off then? but why is the first time it was registered was only in 2007 when it has a mod plate for 4 seats in 2005??

Hey mate,

Can you get a picture of the engine bay and post it here?

Who did you buy the car from and have you checked that the car wasn't stolen or written off?

i did a revs check on it, didnt say it was stolen, just said it was first registered in 2007, ile take a few pics tomorrow for you guys.

Hey GoodoldR32,

Hey mate, do you know if it came in on RAWS or with the 15 year rule. If it did come through the 15 year rule then it wouldn't have a plate anyway. But besides that you don't need a plate to get a roadworthy, so your mechanic is way off and anyway, the Vin will be registered with Vic Roads(or your states equivalent) and NEVDIS anyway. Hope that helps

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
