nope - its meant to be off... only comes on if theres a problem with atessa ( the 4wd system of the car ) could be things like low fluid in the resovior ( found in the boot on the right handside behind the carpet) or even things like uneven wheels ie commo spec - if you have stocks on the back and big rims on the front, but basiclly if the light is on, atessa is off..... get it checked out. can also be some electrical faults with it aswell, theres lots of things....

were can i find the codes, ive seen then on here somewere, cant remember tho

You can always take it to nissan and plug in the consult. I know Hornsby nissan have a consult there.

If you are out in Camden way my mate has a shop with one too.

If you are out in campbelltown way I have the laptop and nissan datascan.

If that fails. Try doing a search "self diagnostics"

did "they" give you a 2 year warranty or did u get one of those rip off warranties from a third party that most importers offer, where u have to pay for services like every 5,000km from a legit mechanic and it only covers a certain amount for each part of the car?

The import dealership are usually poorly equipped. Honestly sounds dumb but make sure they dont pull the bulb out.

If no succcess I say take it to nissan who will hook up the consult.

I had 4wd light come on my r33 GTR in the early days. I lost 4wd when it did. We tried alot of things. You know what? took it to nissan and they hooked up the consult and it turned out to be the TPS!

Just took it into my mechanic as a pre chek before i take it to the importers, he had the generic jap diagnosis for it and it jsut came up with a problem with the ABS, which he thinks could be throwing out the AWD sensors.

Now have to wait and see what the importers mechanic say.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
