Hi guys, I think my 360 is shagged, In the past few weeks it would randomly freeze during play, it wasnt that bad at first but then would become a bit more regular.

Then the other day I was playing Rainbow 6 and it froze, so I restarted and it wouldnt turn on, and all that flashes is 3 red lights instead of green. I looked up the error code and it's code 0102.

I've had the system for about 2 years so got no warranty  .

Any of you guys had this problem and have any of you fixed it?

I just dont wanna have to buy another system.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers

Ben

When i got the red ring of death i just rang up the xbox service place (they are based in adelaide) and they fixed it. It generally occurs when the motherboard gets too hot and starts to split. All in all the turnaround was around 3 weeks.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try calling up.

how much did it cost you? or did you have warranty on it?

Coz if fixing it costs more than gettin a 2nd hand one, I might as well get a 2nd hand Box.

I havent opened it up and dnt really want to, I'll see if theres a place in Melbourne

Cheers

they will fix it for free... RRD (red ring of death) is really common, google it for fun reading... I had 2 360's both do it... now I have a PS3

Oh sweet, well I tried google to look up microsoft but i dnt no if there's a centre here. am i gonna have to send it to America?

All I found on google anywhere in melb was some place that fixes then for $150, dude said im better off sending it to microsoft, so i guess i gotta get to them

Ok, success! I just got off the phone to some annoying american chick (long ass phone cal), but yeah i gotta send the system to Nsw and they'll fix it for free.

Thanks for the feedback guys. :/

Cheers

EDIT * She said it would be fine and they extended my warranty, just as long as the system has not been opened, which it isnt

Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
