My Skyline Wont Start

My skyline has been sitting in my shed for about a year and a half and I have started it and run it regularly.

It has bee about 2 months sinse the last time it was run and I went to start it yesterday and it would not fire.

I have checked all the fuses and relays. We did however find that there was no fuel pressure and found an earth problem with the fuel pump relay so we cut the earth wire and created a direct earth. Fuel pressure returned but the car still wont start.

Could it be an ECU problem, as we replace and remove the earth cable from the battery after we runn the engine everytime????

We are going to wind the car over again and check a spark plug next to see if the injectors are firing now.

Will let yous know of the out come.

Your advice, knowledge, solutions would be PROFOUNDLY appreciated.

some info or car could be handy

It is a 1994 ECR33 GTS-T.

RB25det

No major mods, just HKS pod filter, and HKS exhaust from the cat to the tip.

Manual boost controller.

Thats about it. What else do you need to know???

sitting at the bottem of the cas. try throwing a cup of water on it. it worked for my rb26.. i dont know y or how..... but it did... wouldnt start..... and my mate said worked on his commodore.. so i gave it a go.. it worked....... if it works tho....... ur cas is f**ked......

Thanks guy for your help.

We think we have it figured. A few months ago I cut off the speaker for my car alarm and I noticed that when I was trying to start the car, the alarm light was flashing rapidly.

The car is at the auto electricians today getting the alarm removed. I think that is the issue.

Wil let you know how things go.

Well the problem has been found.... Not only was the problem the car alarm (now removed), but the fuel pump in the tank is buggered.

Anyone know where I can buy one from?? As the auto sparky has called around and says that no one lists one. And how much am I expected to pay??

I found one on ebay and it is in "perfect working order". Should I bid more than $80 for it???

I wouldn't trust an ebay item. Check the forum sponsors for a new bosch 040 (i'm guessing about $160), its a direct replacement with very little modification or the walbro (genuine not a chinese copy) one. Or there's the Nismo option which is a direct dropin, but theyre about $400-$500 last i checked

      Thanks MBS206, i got that PDF but got abit overhelm with all the connections and tracing of wires. I wasn't expecting to plug the dash harness anywhere. i was just going to use my electronics jumper wires to plug into the right pins like ECU power, ecu ground, ignition trigger etc... I do have a few ratchet straps locking it down tight. Fire extinguisher ready and only a small amount of fuel at a time, enough to submerge the pump.

      Thanks GTSBoy, i will do abit more digging. I am missing a blue relay near the ECU connector... so i will chase that up in the next few days as well

Though, you don't need the dash plugged in to get the motor running. What you want is power as how GTSBoy said. You need to power the ECU. Find in the above link the ECU pin outs (Verify them before just connecting them up from things written on the internet). Find anything needing power, give it power, find anything needing ground, give it ground. Then give the starter motor power through a big cable, and bridge the solenoid on the starter straight to power too.  ECU will be on, and when you give the starter power, it'll spin the starter motor, and it should start. I also hope you have a proper stand, and not just the engine sitting on some wood. You will want it bolted down properly.
