are you talking fitted or supply only?

edit: sorry, didnt pay enough attention...

alpine do a package called the "digital" pack.

it comes with an IDA-X200, s type splits, s type coaxials, s type sub, a MRP-F300 amplifier for $999, it retails for about $1400 i think.

so that leaves you some money for a sub-box, a wiring kit, and getting it installed. www.alpine.com.au and look for your nearest specialist dealer.

i suggest go to Fhrx Studios and he will look after you

you can get some nice gear for that money , much better than alpine, pioneer or rockford fosgate

or get items yourself and take to a shop for install

mmmhmmm... sure... so you can go better than rockford fosgate, when Jim Fosgate was the worlds first person to put a subwoofer in a car?

its all well and good to have a personal preference, but until you understand what makes a mobile electronics product good or bad theres no point trying to make your opinion the "right" one.

what does make a mobile electronics product good or bad? installation? products that go hand in hand with each other? or just brands?

lol ok

i do have my preference and i do understand mobile electronics and big thanx goes out to FHRX

i wouldn't touch Rockford with a 10 foot pole to be honest , imo there's many other brands that sound way better than Rockford

i don't care if jim was the first one to put a sub in car

my cuzns couzin was first to have a pioneer sub in his gemini, so now we should all buy pioneer subs???

so tell me what experience you got in mobile electronics?

i was just trying to help a fellow member on here to make a right decision first time and to save some money

all the things above do. installation makes a big difference, but so does buying a well known AND good quality brand. no use buying an amp that only makes its "RMS" power if it was magically struck by lightning. Poor warranty and after sales service always makes a big difference to me as well.

well, i've been retailing car audio for over 5 years now, record, produce and master music. I dont work for a wow or a jb that just hires whatever 16yr old wants a job and can read a company brochure. I DJ at a nightclub, and have experience with many different PA arrangements including line arrays.

the point i was making was that while you may not like rockford, its not up to you to say that they are crap or whatever. Rockford are very well designed and well made subwoofers, and if you have only heard the basic P1 in a prefab enclosure, you really have no idea what they're about. The P3 and upward series are a very good woofer, we have two of them in our demo car, and even though they're in a fibreglass enclosure, they sound great, everything you could want in a woofer.

all audio companies make products for a price point, but you cannot compare them from simply hearing them in one car. you need to hear them in many different cars, in different boxes, with different source units, with different amplifiers, the same goes for speakers as well.

So unless you've heard all of Rockford's range (including their new one, only just released) you cannot simply say "Rockfords crap" or "pioneers great" or whatever. Sure those $300 MTX splits in your mates car sound great to you, but someone who knows what car audio is about can pick how bright and shit they sound. Unless you have a pair of reference quality studio monitors at your home, or you've spent many hours listening to different cars or home theatre or PA or studio arrangements, your opinion on SQ in general is rather invalid.

But admittedly, the new line of rockford speakers are not for me, however some people enjoy the sound of brighter speakers, i do not.

Thats why i recommended the alpine package, as Alpine is not like any other brand, you can't just ring them and say "hey sell me some stuff, so i can sell it at my shop". Alpine pick you, not the other way around. I'm proud to work for a dealer that sells alpine, because it proves the level of service/quality we offer, and we're a Specialist Dealer, not just like a JB store.

We finished a VT commodore last week with the package i quoted, and the customer rang me back today to book in again, as he was very happy with his system, but came into some more money, so we're adding to his system. Adding an MRP-M500 mono block and another SWS-1223D. So upgrading is easy and cheap when you want more bass. So it's not like you have to replace gear, as the equipment in the package is flexible and will fit most cars, and the amplifier makes enough power to run different things.

So is that an enough of an explaination for you?

no not really enough explanation , i don't have mates with $300 mtx splits so don't confuse me with those although there's nothing wrong with mtx splits if you are on budget.

my friends have $500 + splits

mobile audio and you being a dj using pa is diff stuff , you work for autobarn huh

i had alpine in my car and personally my 9887 had to much noise as many others can confirm , my eclipse sounds much better

you can like your alpine and rockford brand but the end of day sydkid did not ask for rockfords $2000 sub only but complete system and i was trying to help him out not make him get specific brands that you stick to because you sell that.

will sydkid get same sound quality of rockfords p3 in lesser models?

his $2000 would be much better spend if he check out many more other brands available and much better than those 3 brands you listed

and whats wrong with jb , i found them to be very good there's knowledgeable people in jb

lots of conflict woah =O

Haha i have had good experiences with sony to be honest... never failed me :\

Looking to get a new brand though so some advice is great =D

Only want to spend about 1.5k max =D

Just looked into the products in that package, looks to be just what im looking for atm, Might get a higher range amp and maybe upgrade one or two other things.

cheers

seriously guys. $500 splits? u serious? what a waste.... u can get a decent pair of slits for 250 mark and they just as good. the use of 500 splits is for spl competitons and you want the speakers to keep up with the bass or go deaf really. i got a set of pioneer splits in my car and they sound beautiful. im a pioneer person all round especially the headunits because u can adjust many things on it but thats just me. my system is pioneer dvd unit splits and rear 2 way 6x9s. mtx mono and option audio 4 channel. Also i would consider jaycar. i got a jaycar sub and it pumps hard. will beat some brand subs out there. might sound dodgy but their precision response stuff is wicked good stuff. think about it mate. dont blow your money on brand. and also its only a good system if its a good install. thats my 2c

    • Hey crew, Failed my WOF cause of a lower control arm, and I've decided to hit both arms, and also the compression rods at the same time(seems they're gonna be the most likely upcoming failure points from some discussions with the lads over on the G35 reddit). I've looking at these form Z1:  https://www.z1motorsports.com/front-suspension/hayaku-automotive/hayaku-g35-front-compression-rod-p-40716.html https://www.z1motorsports.com/front-suspension/hayaku-automotive/hayaku-g35-front-lower-control-arm-p-40674.html I asked Z1 if they'd work as it's the same platform, just RHD vs LHD. I basically got told "Lol dunno". Specifically they aren't aware of any difference but can't guarantee fitment as they haven't done it on a 350GT. So guess I'm asking is if there is any issues with using 2005 G35 coupe suspension parts on a 2005 350GT coupe? Orginally I thought it could be something in the way of the arms that each control arm is designed to be positioned around, but that'd be an engineering nightmare for Nissan needing two different shaped control arms 😅
    • ^ This. The mode door actuator is a common failure, as is the actuator and/or the actual valve for the coolant flow control valve. I also don't know how available the mode door actuator is these days. I've been meaning to look into it and get one from wherever is possible, to keep in the shed for the rainy day when mine eventually fails. Anyway, the advice to you is to search the usual NOS part supply places, or even just go to Nissan and see what they list.
    • Have you got a pic of the actuator? My guess is that unit has failed internally and was flopping around, so the previous engineer who owned it forced it to be fully open to cold air (blocking the heater core path). As far as you can tell, is anything else wrong in the system? Likely you just need a new actuator (not sure how available they are) and then "installation is the reverse of disassembly"
    • I'm happy with the Lsailt unit that I put in, it puts full Android on the top screen so you can run whatever Nav and other Apps you want, while still existing inside the factory functionality like automatic reverse cams, audio input switching, retains factory bluetooth etc. Not cheap and the install was moderate (not simple, not hard) Yours is a V36 not V37 though right?
    • Yeap, all the NC's that I originally looked at that had a hard top were PRHT, which makes the roof line look horrible, hence why I said nope to them My only caveat for another MX5 was it needed to have a hard top, and initially I didn't think you could get a detachable hard top for the NC,  like my NB had Again, a big thanks to Matty for helping me source the detachable hard top for my little girl, they are as rare as hens teeth in Australia, and the few people who have them, keep them Also to Greg, for initially pointing me in the NC direction NC PRHT 🤢🤮 Not mine (I really should take more photos of my car), but a NC with the detachable hard top 😁 To me, the difference in how the detachable hard top roof line looks, and how it actually follows the bodies lines, like they do on NA's and NB's, is chalk and cheese compared to the bulbous looking PRHT
