Mike Rann has flooded the media with so much hoon bs that each and every supporter of him is now sick of "hoons", whether they have ever witnessed hoon activity (loosely defined) or not.

Regardless of whether Rann has supposedly brainwashed the public against hoons or not, residents are going to call the cops when this sort of thing happens in their area.

I know that I'd be calling the cops too (and have done so for less) if someone was ripping skids in my area or street.

You don't have to be a Rann lover to get pissed off by dickheads driving like wankers.

gee over the yrs we all know what n.s crusies turn into i honestly dont know why any of you bother too attend them . it always ends up in grief for someone .

if ya roll with wankers its a sure thing the cops wont be far behind and a fair chance they dont care who they sticker .

I actually think over the past couple years their big cruises have got progressively worse. I think it comes down to the fact that with the increased every day attention import drivers are getting on the street, people are just leaving their car in the garage most of the time. So when they finally do bring there cars out for a special event like the big cruises then they try and make up for it.

You have to remember though that from well over 100 cars that were on the cruise there were probably only <20 that were miss-behaving (there was a video posted on one of the thread for a short while of their antics).

Hahahaha sounds like a pretty sick cruise then. Ns.com cruises are pretty much the most fun you can have/watch in your car. Think back to the Hardtuned mega cruise last year. That was at least 300 cars at 2 meet spots... good times.

Shame that SAPOL rocked up, though.

Nothing wrong with a bit of spirited driving, eh? You'll get this kind of behaviour on any cruise you organize. Even once when I had 4 mates going up for a drive through the hills, we ended up having a Cefiro following us out of no where sliding everywhere, linking, etc.

Always fun times on ns.com cruises.

exactly. everyone just likes to bitch and moan. everyone i spoke to on the cruise loved it. excellent selection of roads, a nice pace, great cars out. had a ball.

i am noticing tho that the people having a bitch are pansies on the road not taking their car over 2500 rpm. if u dont enjoy spirited driving, STFU and dont come on cruises.

Not quite Ben, you forgot the squares for the indicators [] inbetween the circles.

everyones a critic

agreed, they seem to have more tyre to burn so to speak

I agree, i enjoyed the roads and had a good pace behind a wrx.

However, those complaining are those who witnesses people stopping to do skids and driving continuously on the wrong side of the road on blind corners. That aint spirited driving.

i reckon the after talk online and videos is more damaging than the actual act, today tonight might start calling ns.com an underground network of illegal activity but there just to blatent to actually hide what there doing

it could have been played off as a few exagerating callers but theres no way the forums wouldnt reveal what happened, there always full of the details of what went down

i aint complaining though they can do what they like. seems you got 2 sorts of people on that cruise though 1s who like to go nutz like its a nd4sp arcade and 1s that prefer casual cruise. calling the people who wanted a casual cruise stupid and telling them to shut up dosnt seem very polite to me. good move would be to attempt to provide seperate cruises to cater for each perhaps? hell even better seperate car clubs :D

i know, actually blocking off the roads to hold stand stills is pushing it a bit far.

however i think people just like to complain these days. ripping a skid here and there doesnt hurt anyone and we all love watching a few.

just think a few years back everyone used to go out every friday for a cruise, carpark meet up, and the occasional skid. everyone knew their limits and there was no probs. now everything is a reason to complain. its not a crime to say u enjoy fast cars and skids.

technically doing the skid is a crime but yes some people get a bit emo about the slightest wheelspin

at first i assumed the complaints about the cruise were just people being tossers about the slightest bit of reving etc

Theres a time and a place for skids. Public roads are not it.

Your biker mates Roo,. were some of them in 'team swat' ? I know what it stands for. I'm just asking as i know some of your biker friends.

Also. I think some people are being a little harsh on the whole NS website. I have nothing to do with the site myself. But I read up on the cruise, There seems to be some genuine people on there. And some people hurting at the expense of heros etc. They have a much larger community than sau. Ofcourse there are going to be tools.

No debating for me Dan aha,

I enjoyed the cruise for what it was, people like Dave were unlucky it happens.

Lets put it blunt, he'd be the first person to 'lol' at anyone who did get defected if he DIDNT get done :)

i am noticing tho that the people having a bitch are pansies on the road not taking their car over 2500 rpm.

I more noticed the opposite. People trying to give off the impression they are angels on the road and never take their cars over 2500 rpm, condemning others bad behaviour when there's every chance they themselves would've engaged in similar behaviour in the past to that of those they are condemning.

Pretty much the definition of hypocrisy :)

But in the end I care very little because their words bare no effect on the enjoyment I feel when driving my car, by myself/with my mates, the way that I like to drive it. And this will continue to be the case :D

    • Actually everyone on the roads was really well behaved. The only person that did any minor tailgating was a local hoon in a Turbo Focus. Unfortunately we weren't going the same way so there was no grand initial D touge battle. Lots of people pulled over and let me through. The amount of "Hey man nice car, omg skyline, nice 34 man woo" was suprising. Like really suprising. Like almost annoying. My partner was obviously surprised, she'd never seen anyone in the real world point out the car/like the car/want to chat about the car before, so to have like 3 people per day mention it was notable, I could finally say SEE? SOMEONE THINKS THEY'RE COOL. Everyone was also pretty suprised about the weather. Every day was dry and about ~13-14C. Mount Wellington had a sign that said they close the gates at 9pm and I was heading up there at about ~7:30. It was VERY apparent that conditions were getting significantly worse by the minute on the way up and down. The road on the mountain was terrible though, it's no driving road. I have various suspension related questions now. Luckily it was only about 20 minutes from where we were staying to the top of the mountain as said Google maps. We only had the 2 nights in Hobart. We went to the Farm Gate Market though which was really good - And went down to the Hastings Thermal springs/caves down there during the day. I'd definitely be up for going back again, so luckily there's a few more sights yet to see. Didn't get to do the west coast/queenstown/cradle mountain so this was supposed to be a 'scouting' trip anyway of sorts if I were to one day do/take part in/organize a more car-focused trip. As for the boat, it wasn't bad. Well it was bad, but not in the way you're thinking. We did the night trip which leaves at 6:45 (though you have to be there ~2 hours earlier) and arrives the next morning at about 6am. There is nothing to do on the ship. If you plan accordingly and bring a book/tablet/show to watch/charger you can just chill out, take some Travacalm and just sleep through it. The food there is an extremely basic buffet that costs $32 a plate, or $14 for a $3 pizza. The way back we had a travel kettle and a few different types of cup noodles and made our own tea/coffee in the room. This was a far superior way to do it. At the very least book one of the rooms with beds. I guess as we were in the off season we didn't have room mates. You get an option for rooms with 4 beds (2x bunks) or a room with just the two bottom beds. There's also some option for a deluxe queen bed but it's much pricer. We've been on sleeper trains in Asia before so we figured this is similar (and it was)
    • You just gotta be really, really, really clear and decisive with what you want your end product to be. 99% of people who want this conversion aren't "I want to run a 295 front tyre!" so they don't really need the widebody. They just want the OEM body to look a little less dumpy, so bonnet, bar, skirts job done with some camber, stretch, slam. It's when you want that, but then decide to pivot later you get big problems. See also if you're willing to get an all in one fibreglass bar, and you're willing to accept fibreglass problems like cracking the entire item on a driveway, instead of just a piece attached to the bottom, etc etc etc. Decide this all before buyin'.
    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
