Picked this up last night and spent a good 5 hours on it.

Ive been following the build of this from start to finish and i must say it certainly does live up to the expectations so far. I loved assassins creed 1 but i was like everyone else put off by the reptitive missions. Pick pocket, interrogate, eavesdrop & finally assassinate repeat, repeat, repeat.

Graphically its better, the story is really drawing me in, the gameplay is awesome as always & finally the missions/side missions are really broad. This game will take a while to complete.

I got board of forza 3 pretty quick, i finished codmw2 in about 4 hours and it will probably collect dust now but i can see this one taking away a big chunk of my free time.

I recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the gameplay of the first.

It gets my vote for GOTY

Yeah I'm already on level 50 in Forza 3, so that's all the winnable cars gotten. Besides modding a few select cars to crazy lengths, there's not much else to do. I don't like the amount of 'ranked' races where in a car has to be a certain class, or have a certain amount of horse power... takes the fun out of it...

Assassins Creed 1 was way too repetative, I gave it up pretty damn quickly. I think I'll have a look into this one though...

Assassin's Creed 2 has won me over.... been up until late playing it and had it 2 days.... the fact that you can assassinate from hiding spots, over ledges, jump and from water is just awesome.... adds a bit more to it as you can come from nearly any angle...

I just realised... This game would be sweet if there was a level where the reminiscing machine (so dubbed by me... just then...) malfunctioned and the guy woke up with the ancient assassins skills and went on a rampage in a hoodie in the city...

But that's probably not gunna happen...

or i could just play GTA

Ezio/desmond would lose in a gta world. Some thug would shoot him dead.

Speaking of shooting i just picked up a small pistol.

How funny is the guy who comes up to you and starts playing his little guitar and sings to you.

we could base it in a real sorta world where not everyone has guns...? :)

haha count me in, and im sure with his awesome assassin skills, he could kill the gun toting thugs with anything he sees, a stone? a traffic cone perhaps?

Non firearms have their advantages. Bullets can be traced, arrows can't. Guns make noise, arrows don't. Bullets cause excruciating pain, so do arrows. :)

.22 pistol? Sorry, I'm a bit of a fan of my guns. Looking at getting a Sako .243 high powered rifle in Jan sometime. :)

However, I agree AC was a bit rinse and repeat, can't wait to get #2 on PS3, the first was pretty cool!

Starpicket? Brick? Screwdriver? Turbo compressor? A handful of wheelnuts? Bag of salt & vinegar chips? Fluro bulb?

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
