hey mate,

just a couple of questions for your sake,

where are you located?

will you post?

how much for postage to different area's?

can you put some pics up, it will help lots?

what sort of saftey is there for the buyer, as you are new, not implying that you are dodgy or anything, but security is nice...

apart from that, your price is very good for all that gear, and you should have no issues selling it. all the best

cheers

Thanks Sebastion.... I'm located in Bahrain, I'm not sure how much postage would cost, so I don't know if i can pay all myself or shre the postage fee with the buyer (I'll research it and update). I'm getting some pics this weekend hopefully i can upload them. As for safety, I'm not sure what type of safety i can offer maybe u can suggest (I never sold engine before  ) maybe u can suggest what the norm is?

Cheers....Ali

hey Ali,

jeez, your a fair way away, our guess is that postage would be a fair bit, and that would be a fair dint in your pocket, as the engine is cheap enough, as for saftey, not too sure how to go about that, only thing would be paypal, but they are a rip-off... you should just sell it too one of the fella's in dubai, surely they would have enough money for an engine of these specs... cant wait to see pics mate, bet you would be disapointed to sell it, as we know how much money has been pored into it... anyways good luck with the sale mate. hopefully people realise what a bargin it is.

Hey Ali,

just a few more questions, who built the motor, ported the head etc. Is the crank stock and which T88 is it ?

Cheers,

Stav

our guess would be the 38gk, as thats rated a tad higher than 1000hp.

Is this for real??.....

Sounds abit suspicous to me....

Why Suspicious? I had an R33 I was building for the drag race, but i got a good price for a sale without the engine... now I'm stuck with the engine, I was gonna put it in my 180sx but traffic directorate said "no way" it would pass inspection, so I have to sell the engine now and start all over with a SR20 :P

just post a pic of the engine with you standing next to it holding a sign that says LHD GTR SAU...just to confirm you have it would put a genuine buyer at ease.

cheers

Stav,

the negine was built by locals who have quite a succesfull drag racing team, the head was also ported by a local (no special equipment but he is good) the crank is stock and I'm not sure which T88 it is but I'll check... I attached some pics of other cars the mechanic built: the shop is called 'Get Boost' he has built many more but these are the latest....

Cool I can do that, How about I hold that day's newspaper as well :P

agreed.. $13,000 for an engine 10,000km away from a new user. if its legit, good luck trying to sell!

OK I get it... I would be suspicious as well, but that's the deal. Although I need to double check on the shipping if its too much I'll either increase price or just try to sell it in Dubai...

    • This is how I last did this when I had a master cylinder fail and introduce air. Bleed before first stage, go oh shit through first stage, bleed at end of first stage, go oh shit through second stage, bleed at end of second stage, go oh shit through third stage, bleed at end of third stage, go oh shit through fourth stage, bleed at lunch, go oh shit through fifth stage, bleed at end of fifth stage, go oh shit through sixth stage....you get the idea. It did come good in the end. My Topdon scan tool can bleed the HY51 and V37, but it doesn't have a consult connector and I don't have an R34 to check that on. I think finding a tool in an Australian workshop other than Nissan that can bleed an R34 will be like rocking horse poo. No way will a generic ODB tool do it.
    • Hmm. Perhaps not the same engineers. The OE Nissan engineers did not forsee a future with spacers pushing the tie rod force application further away from the steering arm and creating that torque. The failures are happening since the advent of those things, and some 30 years after they designed the uprights. So latent casting deficiencies, 30+ yrs of wear and tear, + unexpected usage could quite easily = unforeseen failure. Meanwhile, the engineers who are designing the billet CNC or fabricated uprights are also designing, for the same parts makers, the correction tie rod ends. And they are designing and building these with motorsport (or, at the very least, the meth addled antics of drifters) in mind. So I would hope (in fact, I would expect) that their design work included the offset of that steering force. Doesn't mean that it is not totally valid to ask the question of them, before committing $$.
    • The downside of this is when you try to track the car, as soon as you hit ABS you get introduced to a unbled system. I want to avoid this. I do not want to bleed/flush/jack up the car twice just to bleed the f**kin car.
    • But again, the engineers said your cast aluminium would be fine based on the load that would be stretching that section. Same load stretching the bolts in a flex (not the twist), with a much smaller cross sectional area than the original part you've broken. It's why you'd need to be using higher strength bolts, but that's just making up for the strength you lose with less area...
    • I am truly amazed someone on this planet was able to cycle the pump using a scan tool. I've always ghetto cycled them on Nissan 90s shit boxes by slamming the brakes and pulling the handbrake to agitate the rear wheels enough to cause a speed difference
