Mail order ecu feedback in skylines forum

Yep he was good to me too. I got 190rwkw on 11psi R33 with std turbo but full exhaust etc.

Mine even was a bit strange with s1 ECU but s2 car and we did it via mail but he was very good, answered a lot of questions from me too. Definitely one of the best guys I've dealt with about Skylines.

If I lived in Sydney I'd just see him for servicing and everything.

yeah great guy, had my s2 ecu remapped by him through mail also.

had a few hiccups but was more than helpful everytime i called him and everything was perfect in the end.

same - but for a series 1 Stagea, works a charm

240kw from the auto

How does the car feel?

BLODDY QUICK!!

A lot of power from 4000rpm. 2nd and 3rd gear pulls so much harder than ever before.

1st gear is just crazy as it revs out so much quicker.

Im not experiencing any flat spots anymore either..

how much for r33 gtst nistune ecu? do you sell the software too, I live in germany so I would need the software to tune it

+ 1 for toshi. Good to see you are still tuning cars. I got my tune done years back by toshi and i highly recommend him.

Have you heard of Link ECU's Toshi? If so do you tune them?

Thank you siddr20.

Please tell me what type of car?

If its skyline or silvia I am able to tune.

Toshi - can you do remaps for cars with big injectors? i.e i have 740cc jobbies and a big turbo, z32 ect.

Are you able to do anything for that?

Thanks

ANdrew

I do not have 740cc data.

I have 480cc and 550cc (nissan or nismo only)

If you in sydney I am able to remap for 740cc.

I have beem looking at getting a tune for a while now and have been looking at what you are able to do.

the car is r33 s2 manual

mods to the car are

FMIC

Splitfire coils

Hyflowed turbo (hypergear)

Turbo back exhaust (xforce 3")

Bosch fuel pump (040 internal)

Turbo smart boost tee

AFM std

injectors std

I do have a a Q45 AFM that is not being used at the moment if needed for a better tune.

how much for a remap to suit these mods with freight. What is the time involved in doing this.

+ another 1 for Toshi.

MODS:

-Hi-flow turbo by GCG @ 16psi

-Walbro Fuel Pump @ full voltage

-3 1/2" Exhaust Turbo Back w/ Hi-flow cat

-Apexi Pod Filter w/ Cold Air Intake (Great in Summer, even better in Winter)

-Standard Injectors

-BP 98

-242rwkw.

RJ.

p.s. Toshi, can you tune with E85 fuel when I get Z32 AFM and 550cc Nismo Injectors?

Please let me know.

Cheers.

Hi Toshi

I am very interested in one of your remaps. So how does this work and how can you make guarantees about performance and safety when doing this by mail order?

Do I install it and then get it dyno'd to check AFRs etc?

I have an R33 GTS-T S2 with the following mods:

-Full turbo back 3inch exhaust

-Pod and cold air intake

-Large FMIC

-EBC currently set to 10psi

Is this the Nistune daughterboard and maps you are installing? Do you retain the R33 ECU?

Cashed up and ready to go :(

Hope to hear from you soon

Yes, you install it and then go to dyno to check AFRs for safe

This is not nistune board (nistune do not sale board for R33.only softwear)

Im using same R33 ECU chip (same genuine ecu chip).

I have spare R33 ECU.

If you in Sydny Im able to real time ecu tune.

Thank you

hi there Toshi ,

I live in Qld and own a r33 gtst series 2 skyline with standard turbo and would like to know about the remapping chip. I have a blitz cs fmic , 3inch exhaust except the factory cat conv ( apexi front and dump & kakimoto 3inch regu cat back ) turbo tech running 10 pound but would occasionly run 12 pound using a manual turbotech boost controller ,kn air filter, gen walbro fuel pump GSS342, new plugs etc in an automatic transmission with after market tranny cooler and always running 98 octane fuel

cheers Ken

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
