Ok. I've seen numerous threads where people put RB25/26 Heads onto a RB30e bottom end. That's fine as both engines are fuel injected and uses ECUs. I even saw the RB30E build PDF on the internet and it stats what is needed for the whole conversion.

Now, i'm asking something different this time. Don't use the ECUs. How about taking the bottom end of a RB30s (Carby) and putting on a RB25DE Head from a R32 (non-vct). That would work right. I know that will fit but......

The problem now is where can i get an intake manifold to mount Webers and trumpets onto a R32 RB25DE Head? Finding one is near impossible. Will the carby intake from the RB30S fit the R32 RB25DE Head?

This is just for information. If information is scarce, then i'll abandon the project. I'm not going high power here. I'm not even going to turbocharge it. Just looking for something different.

Thanks.

I asked a similar question. and the c*nts got stupid and started talking about putting a 202 into it instead.

don't abandon the project. keep looking.

Yeah, information on RB30S seems close to nothing. I guess no one has ever seen one lying around. Guess i have to search deep into Japan websites to find what i'm looking for.

Yeah i saw the link, got flamed instantly lol. Sometimes we are just looking for experiments and that's why we come to SAU...to get information. Not to be depressed and saying that efi is superior and such. We know it's superior but we're not aftering power here.

The RB30s and RB30e heads use the same inlet manifold pattern. So the RB30s inlet manifold won't fit your twin cam head. You'll probably have to custom make something.

Your other problem will be ignition - correct me if i'm wrong - but the twin cam heads normally use coil packs. That means you'd also have to figure out a way to fit a distributor too.

Comments about the RB30s lack of ability to rev seem to ignore that the camshaft profile for the patrol is likley to be very different to the RB30e in the skylines. The patrol is set up to have good power from idle for 4WDriving and higher revs are not really required for a standard 4WD.

You'll need to modify the manifold... BUT DOOO IIITTT.....

Use the stock 25 manifold, cut off the throttle body flange, remove all the injection gear then weld up the injector holes, weld on a side draft flange, bolt on a large side draft carbie. OR an LPG set up.

Ignition? Modify a cam gear to run an rb30 distributor off the front (speedway guys running vh's or lexas v8's do a similar thing), then run the ignition al-la rb30. It just has to spin 1:1 rotor button to crank.

Get a set of extractors, then mess with the cam timing to get the best low down torque results.

Just make shure you run some reasonable compression and tune it as well as you can (with LPG or carbie), if you go with LPG you can use alot more static compression.

Doooooo iiiiiiittt!!!!

+ if you get bored with it, drill and tap the injector holes, thread in a set of nitrous foggers and run 150hp of nitrous/fuel into the thing.

    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
    • Thanks GTSBoy, much easier to work with it now it's free!
    • I _think_ that one has a christmas tree or some other retainer spike into a hole in that panel under it. Come in under it with thin scredrivers and just pry it gently up. If you rip the ears off the retainer pin....so what? Just stick it back down after with a bit of race tape and carry on with life.
