I have not looked into highflow turbo's alot but this impressed me, but a local dude down here in Mandurah got his high flowed from Hypertune with the usual supportings mods and similer to what you suggested and have and did 360hp@17pound with a .86 rear worked really great direct fit and cost just over $1,000. It also goes very quick and completed a 12.6@114mph. Compared to my other friends running the 3076 the high flowed was much quicker and came on much earlier, however the 3076 did 330~hp at like 12 psi so had potentially to make great power.

Prior I thought highflows just made a solid 300 with some more torque.

FYI ill correct a few things in regards to your post... It's "Hypergear" not "Hypertune", hypergear make turbos, hypertune make plenums...

Also the photo of the turbo you posted is NOT a highflow. It is a hypergear turbo running a ATR43 rear housing and a standard nissan front housing!!!

but yes, hypergear turbos are cheap, australian made and seem to make good power and response

ok so a few things now

my SAFC and a z32 wont be enough? ill have to get a APFC?

yeah forgot to mention i have a profect b spec 2 EBC

turbo comes in a lil kit thingo with a new manifold to fit and im getting a new dump to fit

i really only want to hit 400 to say that i made it just to boast  would be real happy with 350 ish

i might give it a go installing it with myself and a mate that knows his way around things...

so wont need to upgrade coilpacks? will save some money and go towards some other things if i dont

Z32's fine and you dont need to upgrade coilpacks. Get the PFC. So all up that's going to be pretty damn expensive, about $6k+ installed by yourself

You'll more than likely only get around 380hp with that setup, maybe 400 on a happy dyno.

I got my gt3076r kit set up installed and tuned at hyperdrive

You will save money if you go the vipec. They are awesome computers too. No boost controller or afms needed. Only thing is you wont be able to get Andrew to tune it as hyperdrive dont do vipecs yet.

You wont need an exhaust manifold the stock one will be fine for that power.

Option 1

Injectors 555c - 850cc

Apexi pfc

Splitfire coil packs

044 fuel pump

Dump and custom turbo piping (Andrew can do this)

Z32 afm

EBC recommend blitz or greddy

external gate

GT3076r 0.82

Option 2

vipec

all of the above except ebc & z32 afm

thanks patty option 1 is looking the way to go

the kits comes with another manifold that i will use as im sure mine is leaking

will i need the coilpacks?

will be buying new dump and mabye screamer

Not unless your current coils are on the way out.

thats my nephews car. it is a hypergear turbo (actually my old stock one) it has a .82 rear housing. the car is very well set up for drags and done a 12.9 on the stock turbo so im not surprised with the 12.4 on this one. had a look at it close up and its a nice piece of gear

    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
