Can you help me please understand a few settings on the Greddy -eo1

Current

1. High boost 'set' value is 60% & running 18.5psi

2. The Gain value is 15

3. My Start Boost value is 10psi

I would like to run about 15psi which i'm guessing will be around the low boost 'set' value of 49 BUT

How do I change from the low option to high boost, is there a shortcut button on the hand controller or do I need to go through the on-screen menu?

I have read that the 'gain' value should be between 3 - 7% of the 'set' value for a better & flatter torque curve is this true? I want the boost to come on strong

should I leave the gain where it currently is?

I have also heard that the Start Boost value determines when the wastegate opens, does this mean I should set it to say 14psi, 1psi before my 'set' value?

I have attached a photo of my current settings.

the greddy ebcs generally have 3 values to adjust. Set, Gain and Set gain. Set is the boost pressure you want to run, as youve mentioned. Gain is how it cycles the solenoid in order to maintain boost and Set gain is at what boost level to begin opperating the solenoid.

If your Set gain is set too high you will spike BUT if its too low it will be harder to reach your target boost.

How I normally tune these things is drop the gain down to its minimum value (i think its 10?) and adjust my Set gain to 1 - 2 psi before my target boost. I then dial in the Set to match this and keep turning the Set up until I reach my target boost.

Boost will probably tail off in the higher RPM so what you need to do then is up the Gain untill it begins to spike, and back it off an increment at a time till it stops spiking. Do it in 4th gear at a high load point that spools fairly quick tho, to get ur spike right.

If you dont end up holding the boost till redline what you can do is use the warning function to drop your boost when you overboost by 1 or 2 psi and run a higher gain to help keep the boost up in the higher rev range.

thanks mate, that was very helpful. so if my turbo can quite easily hit my desired boost level even @ high rpm it's better to have the gain up for better response and perhaps drope the set level a little for best results?

also mate, do you know if there's a button on the hand controller to change between low and high boost?

and also what is the 'peak hold' setting?

peak hold leaves the highest boost reached on the screen for a few seconds afterwards so you can look after you back off.

usually your set gain or start boost should be around 2-3psi below your target boost, but as said wind it up until it spikes then back it off, same for gain. thats assuming you want it to come on boost as early and hard as possible

Sorry but im not sure about changing between modes on the E01..

yet as for your question there, having the gain up too high will get you inconsistant results. try to make things accurate rather than abit more of this etc.. so get your set to where it needs to be to hit your boost and then only dial in enough gain till it wants to spike and back it off a touch from there.

what you want is a smooth delivery yet obviously as quick as possible. as an example if you have your gain up too high and you hit the boost controls set limiter it will try to cut the boost back down meaning a sudden loss in power which will result in less torque thereafter and less power up top in that gear.

try get it as accurate as you can to the max gain on that set level without ANY spike at all :P lower is always better GL

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.

Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
