i have to back up TPG as they are my ISP. It really depends what you use the net for. I use it mainly to download prons and other stuff so its ok with ping times as it provides me unlimited download. Best month was 40 gig :D :D ;)

anyway, i have to also admit that playing online games gets crappy ping times so it really depends what you use it for.

i live in narre warren now...and i have foxtel as well as adsl, so optus tv i not sure of casue they have there own cable..but adsl you should be fine jsut about anywahere....

i have unlimeted dload on the adsl with dodo..and seriously, NO TROUBLE whatsoever..AND with NO contract is their standard way for $65 a month i think

dart is good for ADSL... as long as your exchange supports it. I'm with pacific atm and they've got mad speeds, however its not unlimited, I've got a 10gig cap per month and that's during off peak, during peak time I've got a 1 gig cap.

Which suits me fine coz I leechzor during the nighttime

i use iinet, as some1 said b4 , go to the whirlpool site, its got everything you'll need there if either you want adsl or cable. narre warren im pretty sure offer both cable and adsl, depends if ur north/south though i guess. "i think" you said it was a new area? or new housing estate? so you could be unlucky and be on as earlier was mentioned a rim or pair gain. bad luck if you are :) . i just got adsl today and im in hampton park (right next to narre) and everything seems good.

firstly, telstra ****ing blows. had them out the other day to install a line.. waited for 6 hours and they never showed up or even called. When I asked for a refund the girl said it wasn't their policy... so i asked, why is it your policy to charge me if im late with my bill, but I cant charge you when your late....

secondly, whirlpool is your friend!

thirdly, i have bigpond unlim adsl ($100 a month) and also tel.pacific adsl unlim ($80 a month). Only been on tel.pac for 1 weeek now and its good for the price.

Been reasonably happy with telstra adsl apart from when the phone line was hit by lightening and blew up my computer through the modem. They told us that any damage past our front door is our problem, the other side is theirs. The week after that we were hit again and the phone cable fried under the driveway. They then told us anywhere on our property is our responsibility, and after a 1 1/2 month fight with no phone lines or internet they finally agree to fix it and pay for it....

I guess I would have had the same problem if I had another net connection as Telstra has a monopoly over the lines... but i think my point is, dont use them as they are the biggest liars I have ever had to deal with. Im glad I sold my shares and made a good profit.

also SLYWPN - can you please tell "Sue" from W.A call centre she is the dumbest bitch I have ever had to talk to on the phone ever... and if she tells me to call "AAPT" once more im going to really ****ing crack it

(long story but i had a fault with my line and got this dumb lady who kept telling me it was an AAPT number and to call them - i repeated nearly 100 times that I have my telstra bill in front of me. She finally put me on to her manager when I told her she was the most retarded ****wit I have ever had to deal with in my life... when i got on to her supervisor she fixed my problem in 15 secs)

congrats on the house try and find the local exchange and see if your 3 klms from it any more and your like me isdn or satelite isdn is bearable but not real cheap . I"m 5 klm from the exchange. also those new estates are great for testign cars out :0 I love it

cheers

have you got your car back yet? if so how is it

hehe u do realise a LOT of companies resell telstra ADSL... the number of times I've spoken to ppl who've changed from telstra to iprimus coz its a better service... bollox...

wood

it isent a new housing estate, the house is 3 years old.

dave

i had a lightening strike blow up my computer through the phone line also in qld and which blew up the whole junction box also. If u think telstra are farked, try ringing the dell (my work computer) helpline, it goes to india, after 1 hour on the phone trying to explain to the guy that qld is not driving distance away from vic (so i could get the computer fixed) i still got nowhere.

meggala

turbo had to be sent back on the 23rd to get the flange machined out a bit more and modified so the exhaust housing wouldnt toch the block. Hopefully get it all sorted before new years

oh i think i need to see a doctor! i cant keep my rage in when dealing with morons any more.

I went to pacific fair myer (qld) for stock take sale today and picked up some shirts at $41.95 with 30% off. Got to the counter and it came up as $49.95. Tell the lady what the deal is and she starts telling me that she only just started so how is she meant to know.. so i say thats cool, just mark them at the right price... then she refused and said i would have to go to another counter.. so im like WTF.. in the end she called security and her manager.. haha... got it all sorted and made her look like a ****... the whole time my 75yo dad is standing with me saying nothing, and this dumb bitch starts abusing him too! argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..

not necessarily some larger ISP have boxes at exchanges in metro areas and use this. There's even an ISP in rural adelaide offering ADSL where testra don't by setting up secondhand US boxes (since the US has a shiteload of ADSL and is years ahead of us)

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
