Hi Guys..

Just wondering what u guys think? I am gettin a 2530 Hi Flow spec Turbo soon but the one i'm gettin is

in a .86 T28 turbine housing in a .60 comp so identical to 2530 except its .64 turbine as .64 will seem too

small for RB25DET.

Will i get slightly more power @ .86? I'm thinking of running 17-18psi so get about 230rwkw and max out the

injectors and AFM when i get my Power FC tune.

I have all the basic supporting mods like FMIC, 3" Turbo Back, Bosch910 pump, Splitfires, HKS EVC, Apexi Pod

with Metal Intake Pipe. Just want to know if i should get anything else like bigger AFM, injecorts or possibly step 1

cams b4 i go 4 the Tune?

Cheers

Ces

smaller would be responsive but loose top end but if you got bigger it wont be restricted top end and will squeeze more power and will be a tad laggier than the smaller

and would suggest getting injectors and afm but meaning you will have to get a computer of somesort aswell

as above afm maxed out

0.86 housing on a 2530 is defeating the point isnt it ? wouldnt u just be shifting the curve to be laggier effectively ?

that turbo can still only flow so much but is used for reponse on a rb25 with normal 0.63 housing HKS put on it...0.86 housing get more top end but still only flow 230rwkw

People put 2871 .86 on SRs and thats only a 2L (admitantly laggy IMO)

I think the .86 would suit the extra 25% capacity perfectly

As others have said 230kw/308hp would be at the limit of the AFM and injectors

Wouldnt bother with headwork @ that power level

I have a mate running a 3076 (or 3072) with .64 rear housing. He makes 360rwhp, with almost no Lag on a Cam'd RB25 but flat top end.

If he then swaps rear housing for a .82 it can make an extra 50 hp.

The 0.86 rear housing a stock 25 would be good, a bit of lag for a meaty top end.

I would never run AFM or injectors at max. Get a Z32 AFM if you already have a Power FC

Thanks 4 the Input Guys..

I'm picking up some Pinkish 550CC injectors today and shortly Z32AFM i'm buying over east..

How much a bit more power will i put out with .86 housing as i hear it should hold all the way to

redline and not taper off, make a little bit more power than 230rwkw.. to like 235-240rwkw??

Basically i have a Disco Potato i think.. GT2860RS on .84 Housing on 58Trim.

My Friend adviced me once Injectors are in & AFM that i should get it Tuned straight away n

can't really drive it around much. So i'm thinking i'll get the workshop to install the Injectors and get it tuned

by them straight after.. AllStar Garage perhaps???

    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
    • OK, if it idles at 1000+ with the AAC, its not an idle airflow problem. The cold start valve just gives extra air when the engine is cold, but you have enough air without it to idle at 1000. I think you are back to a fuel problem, sorry. Can you see the fuel pressure staying constant or does it drop as the revs drop to a stall?
