Ive got an R33 GTS4, had it for a year and a bit now, and ive had not one bit of trouble with it. Hell if he's looking for a coupe why not go the sedan, there good looking, handle as well, and yourve got 4 doors for your drunken mates to stumble into!!

Parts are easily accessible, and a decent price, Im talking bout parts for servicing/maintainence.

Fuelwise there like most other cars in their capacity, if you flog them, they will drink fuel.

Handling, boy o boy, what a step up from driving a Mitsu express :D Just kiddin, they handle like a dream.

If he's young too, the skyline is a very easy car to do some minor "rice" mods.

If your nephew wants one, i say go for it, if you dont go and own one today, you might not have the chance tommorow. But as always. Check out the car, run it through inspection ect ect.

Goodluck in your search.

I had an N/A R33 GTS (RB20E) for 2 years. Great car, never missed a beat. Only downside was a lack of power (130 PS standard in a car that weighs quite a bit).

Still, it was a skyline. I'd definitely recommend them for anyone on a budget, young drivers and so forth. If you want power, I'd got for the GTS25 (2.5 litre) it's twin cam and the tuning potential is better.

n/a R33 skylines have very low power and torque for their weight and will be easily chopped by v6 family cars such as camry's and magnas

Yeah but keep in mind that they are 500cc to 1 litre down in capacity. If you want the power get a turbo model, simple as that. But if you want something much cheaper to buy and insure, then the NA version is still a very nice car.

Unfortunately most people that get one seem to get bitten by the turbo bug before too long and start asking about how they can stick a turbo on it :)

I know peak power isn't telling the whole story, but the GTS25 Type S (http://imports.motortraders.net/imports/sp...spec.asp?id=655) has a slightly higher power/weight ratio than a VT series 1 Commodore Executive with the V8 option. The SS weighs even more. It'd be no match for a LS1 powered Commy, but it's still respectable.

    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
