Hi

just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction as i have no idea what websites you guys look at to view cars in japan

basically i want to get the latest model GTR within my budget (mid $30k'ish)

i was thinking a series 3 r33 gtr but is it possible to get a r34 gtr for that much? preferably factory standard and untouched

i know theres definately no chance of finding a r34 gtr locally for under 40K hence why im looking at importing

i'd appreciate any assistance :D

Well firstly, I knew of a guy who bought an R34 GTR from Melb for 38 grand but....

It was a real shitter. I saw the car after he drove it back to Sydney. Personally I wouldnt have even paid 8 grand for it.

But a simple answer to your question is you'll get a very nice late R33 or a very very average R34 for your money. If you really have your heart set on an R34, why don't you just wait and save a bit more?

i know of the one your talking about, what was bad about it? it looked pretty clean in the pics

whichever one i get i'll be keeping for a long time, i hate the whole process of buying/selling so definately dont want a shitter.

i'm looking at getting something original, very clean and untouched in any way and i plan on keeping it that way.

i could wait and save more i guess

what do r34 gtr's go for usually in the above condition and landed, complied, registered etc?

thanks

Nearly all cars look a million dollars in a picture. But that car had a lot of issues but Johnny (the new owner) stuck with it, got nearly everything fixed and sold the car. I don't want to defame that car just in case the new owner is here.

You can get an original, clean 99-00 R34 with higher kms for about 45-47k complied (based on a 3 mil yen fob price), or with lower kms would be a bit more.

Or you can buy something like this for 45k already here.

Actually when I looked at that car closely, I noticed it's my old gtr lol. I imported that one but it's not a grade 5 car so the seller is telling porkies... still it was a good clean example, grade 4/B, totally stock except for the Zeal coilovers.

^^^^ that thread will give you a fair budget to look at...

as JDM performance predicted... 1.5 - 1.7 milly

would fall within your budget and leave some left for insurance and "issues"

that particular car looked stunning

thanks for that fellas that blue gtr looks the goods though i've never been a fan of that blue colour

this however seems perfect, pretty much exactly what im looking for!

if only my car was sold already :)

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
