I'm not questioning the legality of it, I'm just wondering why you'd use fog lights if it wasn't foggy.

OK Sydney is not real foggy....(but some of their drivers are)... when I have to take my pride anf joy out when all the mums are picking up kids from school (and not always looking where they are going) I hope that greater daytime visibility of fog lights (instead of volvo-esque headlights) might keep me from being hit by one of those bloody 4WD's. It's just a survical instinct.

And, NO, I am not going to drive a Volvo. :Bang:

yes well i too think all u guys were way too hard on him, and hows idea was it to drag al that up after so much of time :S

lol im sure u gont a M license and aint using those foggy nemore by now

yeh im on this forum because i was already a member, came within a bee's dick of buying a R33 but considered the insurance for someone my age and thought twice, same goes for a WRX.. so yes i ended up with a nice non turbo car with all the interior luxuries of a fantastic sports car, with half the insurance and twice the peace of mind about parking it.

i swear thats wat these forums are for?

interior of the rx impreza is fookn sh1t. Nothing compared to a skyline. CENTRE CONSOLES ROCK!!!

My two cents.

Someone once told me this *trick* im not sure if it works but heres how it goes.

If u cop a fine (suppose its a speeding fine), and lets suppose the fine is $100 ....write them a cheque for $102....they are supposed to issue u a refund cheque/receipt for $2. The idea here is then to throw that refund cheque away and forget about it. Apparently as long as this refund cheque is not cashed they cannot close the case on this issue and hence although u have paid for your fine, your points will never be deducted because the case has never been closed. Not sure if this works but its just word of mouth.

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
