Nsw - Want To Swap Rb20det R32 Gts-t & Rb25det R31 For Fairly Stock R32 Gtr, Or Maybe R33 Gtr

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, as the title suggests, ive got an R32 GTS-T & an R31 with an RB25 motor that i want to swap for a fairly stock R32 GTR, or R33 GTR if there is 1 that cheap.

Basically i bought the R31 for the motor, which is from an R33 GTS-T Series 2. I plan to use it in my R32 GTS-T, although ive always wanted a GTR. I also have a few items that i have acquired for the conversion as well as spares that i would trade with the cars if a GTR owner is interested in the swap. Im looking for a straight swap, as all my money has gone into acquiring these cars & all the extras i have for the conversion. These extras would include:

R33 GTS-T front calipers & rotors

Apexi Power FC for RB25 with hand controller

Z32 AFM

GTR injectors & resistor pack (stock but reco'd)

White R32 GTR bonnet & grille in perfect condition (not a dent)

The R32 GTS-T specs are as follows:

1992 R32 GTS-T (my current daily driver)

5 speed manual

wine red metallic

18x,xxx kms

BLITZ front mount intercooler

UAS cerametallic clutch (single plate)

rebuilt & shimmed factory LSD

Blitz BOV (disconnected) & Turbosmart BOV (plumb back)

Splitfire coil packs

3" exhaust

dual stage boost controller (11psi & 13psi setting currently on standard turbo)

18" white 7 spoke rims with good tyres

slotted front rotors

all urethane rubbers in the front suspension

R32 GTR front seats

CD player

2 pillar mounted gauges (boost gauge & air/fuel ratio)

500hp in tank Walbro fuel pump

pod filter & R32 GTR pod cover modified to fit

RB25 pink label AFM fitted

insurance approved 3 point alarm & immobiliser with auto window lift

HKS turbo timer

made 145.5kw at the wheels (before pod filter, diff rebuild, AFM replacement, new clutch because stock clutch was slipping, split fires), can get dyno run now for the new owner. All my tuning & performance work has been done at Unique Auto Sports.

The R31 is not registered, & has been kept covered up until i am ready to pull the engine out of it if it does not go before hand. It gets started every week or 2, & just driven around the flat parts of the paddock to keep everything moving.

If anyone would like any more info or pics on either of the cars, PM me or email me at:

[email protected]

You can also msg me for any details you may be after, or for any offers on 0407 896 339.

If i cant find a trade, il go ahead & do the conversion in a few months like i had planned. I have been after a GTR for ages, & i would like to acquire 1 sooner rather than later, preferably an R32 GTR.

Cheers all

Im not selling them separately unfortunately.

If i can trade both for a GTR i will do that, if not i intend to keep the R31 to be the donor car for the RB25 to go into the R32.

Until i finish fixing my old daily driver, i cant sell them separately....if i finish that soon i may list them separately, but until then my hands are tied.

to be honest if the 31 is regoed with the 25 in it id sell em seperatly. should be able to get somewhere around the 20k mark between them if in good cond and pick and choose your gtr of choice.

cash talks bullshit walks.

The R31 isnt registered, its engineered though.

Im not looking to sell, as i still need a car to drive to & from work. I bet i could sell the R31 real quick, but the R32 would sit around for ages & no1 would want to buy it.

If i get a trade for both of them for a gtr il be happy, or il be happy if i keep both & go ahead with the engine conversion.

20k would be nice, but i seriously doubt id be getting anywhere near that all up.

yeah he meant if u registered the r31 then sold both of the private u may get around that. and personally thats probably what i would do... i doubt any gtr owner would wanna downgrade to a gtst knowing they would have to do the conversion themselves etc.

Yeah that does certainly make sense, but then im still left with no car to drive to & from work once i sell them.

I guess it was more of a stab to see if anyone was interested in the swap, but i think il end up keeping both & doing the conversion by the looks of things. There could always be a gtr owner who wants something different, after all the whole project is ready to go, but theres not too many of them like you said.

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
