Hi guys,

I finally took the plunge and got myself an R34 GT-T! The car's been an absolute dream come true, its like a damn playstation on wheels! Ok, that aside, I'm thinking about getting a new front bar. Frankly, I can't afford East Bear so the next best thing would probably be this kit off ebay.

Since its so dirt cheap, I might wanna give it a go and see how it goes. However I've just moved to Brisbane, QLD so I'm not too familiar with the garages that does cosmetic stuff around here. Can anyone recommend a good reliable garage that I can stick to? Preferably somewhere around Brisbane City.

Also, could anyone advise on price wise: how much am I looking at for fitting and painting the kit?

Any help would be greatly appreciate.

Cheers,

k.

p.s - i'm not sure if this would be of any concern, but the car is in white.

I personally would not buy bodykits off ebay.. especially when they are cheap... Do it once.. Do it right...

For brisbane I would recommend DMD... I don't believe they do paint and fit anymore (will need to confirm).. but their bodykits i have got from them are top notch.. hardly any mods to make it fit.. and didnt have some crazy out of line warping..

Paint and fit should prob be around $400.00 mark i'd say.. Does also depend on how the fitment is.. If they get that bad they require cut and re-glassing then requires more labour...

nice to know you actually read the description and gave correct info

**You are bidding on a brand new R34 GTR style front bumper to suit normal GT and GTT R34 turbo or non-turbo version**

This is @ Bomba or at me? If I'm reading it right, its a GTR style bumper meant for GTT R34, no?? :(

If I'm wrong then I probably have too much blood in my caffeine stream!! lol, peace!~

Ah so sue me :P Just finished a 12hr shift, just read GTR.......

So how does it fit against the bonnet? Pics are too small to work it out. It couldn't fit over the bonnet cause how would you open it? anybody enlighten us?

St Lucia hey? I actually bought my 34 from there!

Must congratulate you on your choice of colour too :P

Cameron's Body Works in coopers plians are very good, as are bradys body works in acacia ridge. I might be a little biased as I am a local though....

scroll down to look at the white GTT, it's the exact same kit from the exact same seller off eBay. He shaved off the top mole and part of the middle bits in the grill, finally painted the 'lip' black and it looks wicked sick.

And thanks!! I was pretty glad I didn't get black, I kinda find white abit nicer after awhile(or maybe I'm just stupid biased, lol). Are you in sunny banks?

@Gimps, I think the general consensus around here is not to get kits off eBay, like uhm, you get what you pay for yea? I was thinking about it but the EB kit is out of my league. I was very skeptical too, but since another white Skyline has taken the plunge and not died, I was thinking maybe I should go for it too. Well, I'll keep ya posted on how it went, but first I need to find a decent affordable garage. I'll probably give the suggested ones a call on Monday. :P

    • Thanks both. All good advice. Reminds me of drilling through stone wall for drainage pipe 😬 I'll let you know how I get on if I still have use of my hands afterwards 😅
    • Finally got shipping number for the intake and throttle body, shipped by UPS, so "should" be in my hands sometime next week, fingers fracking crossed
    • I'm so far behind in the jobs I have to do at both work and home (including car) that I have become immortal. There's simply no way that I can die now.
    • Each to their own I guess  Me, I put just as much time into cleaning inside of the cars as I do on the outside As for getting wet, it is really no different than steam cleaning the carpets at home, apart from the cars carpet dries alot faster than the house, again, I only do it in the hotter months and leave the car opened up for a few hours As I only do it yearly, it is just before I do the diff and gearbox service, so I clean the carpets, then it's up on stands, wheels off, service, clean the undercarriage,  grease the bushings and do a nut and bolt check on everything  Disclaimer: I typically had all the time in the world to kill when I was working 🤣, so spending a full day or 2 cleaning, serving and "looking at stuff" was,  easily achievable, and a fun mental therapy day As for time to kill, I retired last Wednesday, so apart from my physical training, my days are filled with lots of random jobs around the house and garden...."Idle hands are the Devils something something" I am also buying a new house sooner rather than later, I'm actually looking at a potential property tomorrow, I'm looking forward to getting a car hoist as I'm starting to get to old to crawl around under a car, I can only imagine all the undercarriage cleaning and looking at stuff when that gets set up
    • Yeah, I'm not interested in wetting the carpets, and I don't care about brown dirt/dust that lives deep in the pile or underneath. It's not like I crawl around on them in my birthday suit or eat dropped food off them (because there is never any open food in my car). The seats are alcantara (cheap Chinese imitation alcantara, to be sure!) with barely 1" of foam pad behind the surface. That's not getting wet either. Any car that I would be happy to get the interior wet, I would not care to put the effort into.
