(Skline01999)If you dont mind me asking, have you had your Db ever tested on the system???

Apparently it should sit around 92Db on a regu 06 which is about 12Db more than the Kakimoto R and seeing its on my NA i should be a bit louder but like i said the muffler does quieten everything down very well and if i had a regu 06 it would be way over the 92Db mark.

Nah I havnt had it tested , but up to 5000 from hearing its sounds like stock then it starts to get louder.

If you are in the SE suburbs, head down to Sabbadin Automotive and have him make you a custom system. The Jap exhaust on my GTR was loud and did drone. We tried a few different combos and now my car sounds great but has no drone at all and still flows as much as the loud Jap system.

Give him a call hand ask him about the mufflers we used on Dave's Black GTR, he will know what you are talking about.

Cheers

Dave

Thanks Dave, I always thought Sabbadin was up North West.. shows what I know  I think I'll have to give them a call or drop in there and have a chat.

Is your exhaust "legal" as in fairly quite? Was it comparable in price to the good jap systems?

Cheers,

Phil

looks a lil worse for wear. could do with some paint but meh. noone sees it and theres no holes or leaks.

too quiet for me. want something louder. it had DTM angled tips wen i got it so i got em chopped off and replaced with 2 3' straight pipes.

I've seen some images of yours in some other threads SLY. It does look (and sound) good by the reviews I've seen but that model is now discontinued as far as I can tell. In the photo looking at the tips the large bends in the piping under the HICAS look fairly low, does that pass the 100mm test?

I've been too busy at work to be able to call Sabbadin yet. I don't know how this will compare in price vs a Fujitsubo, plenty of pricing around for the kakimotos? No one looks to stock the Kakimoto.R's but I think the Fujitsubo Legalis R would look a bit better. I's all a bit hard though as as mentioned there's just no good images of them. You'd think there would be a few angled shots of each model exhaust on a car.. I mean they've gone to the trouble of making it fit on the car so it's been on one at some stage, all they had to do was take a photo, it's not that hard! (end rant )

um ill have a check tomorrow sometime for you. yeah i tried to find info on it when i first bought the car and couldnt find a thing. mines different from the one you put up though. mine has no middle muffler. it ad three hotdogs but i had two cut out to give it a little bit more of a note but it didnt really change it. lol.

    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
