have to space the swaybar down 10mm to clear the sump,

trimmed the bonnet bracing and some minor engine mount mods but the bonnet can be closed!

R34 or a remote master cyl setup still needed to clear plenum.

Slowly getting there.

f**k me,

since I last took these pics, Ive done sweet f**k all.

Soo hard to access the ceff, going to the US in a couple weeks for a car/car parts buying trip, after that, bringing it home.

As it has to sit on the naturestrip (im dreading this) i'll fit some stock wheels amd full the steerer and gauges out of it.

Not much of a update,

Finally back from the good ol USA, picked up a few bits for the shitbox while I was there.

Needed new gauges, brought some autometer "golden oldies" style gauges.

Being a rat/ hot rod/ sled lover, couldnt resist.

12" thermo fans, 2 of.

and some -10 fittings for my oil cooler.

Currently starting to be overgrown in a mates backyard due to the rain melb has been getting, its a sad sight.

Bringing it home soon to do the cooler piping.

Suggestions on what material?

Keep in mind I can weld mild steel and stainless, DIY is gooooood.

problem with that is I have a high mount and a front facing plenum with a q45 TB, so most of that piping will need work.

And most of the generic piping kits are 2.5, cant get a silicone hose that will go 2.5inch to a massive throttle body :S

Abit of progress this week,

Although its a 40odd minute drive to get to the car, ive been enjoying the working conditions.

(no dog, no kids and a carport to work under!)

cooler piping is mocked up, just need to take it some where to get tig'ed up.

Initially I started to do it from stainless, the intake side come up a treat, but the turbo side required tight bends, so a mixture of cast and mendrel bent alloy was used.

Pic shows what it will look like, used a existing hole so its neatish, and will give me a heap of room for the airbox i'll start making when the cooler pipe is all welded up and bolted in.

Airbox will also cover up some of that wiring, which is a good thing.

Will also be fitting a oil catch can in the same area, basically mounted against the side of the radiator.

Wired in 2 12" thermo fans, brought these in the US, 55mm odd thickness, $52 each from memory.

Ran the wiring for them along the sides of the radiator for neatness.

Started to relocate the battery to the boot, just waiting on a battery now so i can finish it off.

Also started to wire the new gauges in, removing the old birds nest took some time, need that battery to sort out power sources to power the gauges.

here what they look like, 'oil temp' wasnt available in this style, so opted for 2x water temps.

Most of the big stuff to get it running is done, just ip to the small time consuming 'custom' stuff, wiring extensions, genrally just cleaning the bay up and mounting parts properly for a change.

Also got a longer throttle cable today!

random pic of my latest "investment" that will land hopefully early january.

Need to do a service and carb rebuild on it before I sell it.

Want a car or motorbike shipping from LA to Aus? Inquire within, I do good rates :D

Thats about it, look out for more updates, the closer it gets, the more pumped I amto work on it.

Goal: tuned by early Feb.

    • Was there ever a model of the Stagea m35 that didnt have a badge on the grill? I thought I saw that somewhere, some aero edition or something? I cant find it again? davemoto
    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
