Mo Pro have released details of this year's MG and Daewoo series

I raced the daewoos in 2002 and 2003, it was a great intro to racing.

6 races for 15,000 in the Daewoos, or $27,500 in the MGs

Or, if you're made of money, $70k for the Lotus challenge :P

they are a good series! have one mate doing the daewoos and one doing the MG's! Duncan, you know the guy doing the daewoo's he raced in the wakefied 500 last year!!!

the mg's had their pre series race on the weekend, supporting the konica's! the competition seems like it'll make an interesting year!

results from the weekend are here: http://www.racetime.com.au/?event=i0401

It must have been raining for race 2, coz plenty of the mg drivers were owned by the daewoos.

When we ran the w500, the last 1/2hr was wet and the woos were quicker then too :(

Craved, who were your mates/how did they go?

And.........................YAY FOR THE RETURN OF MOTORSPORT!

Duncan, only one of the guys raced on the weekend .. Brad Lowe in the MG's. since this was not part of the series my other mate saved his money!!

The 110 car was having engine troubles so it was struggling down the straights, but he went well, awsome race to watch! ended up coming third, after a big spin on turn one!

You probably know Matt thats running the woo's this year. He was one of the winners in last years w500!

Engine trouble down the straights definately rings a bell for my old car :( Once the engine was rebuilt it was great tho!

Brad did really well, 3rd in both races is great in what is presumably his first time in the cars.

I remember meeting Matt at the w500 last year, does he also race kingswoods and drive a sprinter, or am I confused?

he drives the sprinter, but my other mate raced the HQ series last year!

The Hq driver is now just prepping up for the state formula ford chapionship! first race is 13/14 march so we've got a lot of testing and track time to do before then!

Brad has only driven those MG's in the chance of a lifetime, level 3, he came 6th in the final, Matt came 9th i think! Brad was definately quicker in the second race coming back up 5 positions after being hit in turn one! He's used to wet conditions though which helps, as he actually drives modifieds at parra speed way most weekends!

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
