From my experience, stuffing a GT3076 core into a stock housing will result in too much back pressure, forcing the bearings to load up from excess thrust load. Garrett cores aren't designed for this...

I tried a range of different brand adjustable actuators when I experienced the same problems with an almost identical setup. I found that like mentioned earlier a combination of a stiff sprung actuator with an enlarged internal wastegate exhaust port flap. That way you could hold the boost and still have accurate control. Worked on my 260+kw setup.

I found the Garrett adjustable actuator to be the best at holding to redline.

    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
    • Hi All, putting the engine back together and everything is perfect except have this plug left over.. any ideas what it is for and where it goes? Is on cold side under the intake plenum *note not a stock plug, as everything has been modified Cheers
    • Sounds like a misfire. Check fuel pressure and don't even think about going into boost while it's like this unless you enjoy engine rebuilds.
