Howdy yall,

Well I went done and broke something. When I bought my R33 I could not afford the stereo in it so the guy was nice and removed it before I bought it.

So I got my hands on a headset and went to put it in, but because I am a clutz I could not get it working off the acc lead, just didnt work, but i did have constant, soI just hooked it up and bobs your uncle, just had to remember to turn it off, this was going to be a temporary situation until I bought a decent head unit.

Problem was that then my clock stayed on all the time, wether the radio was on or not! So fine I'll just unplug it, and that was that.

Now I have removed that stereo out cause it was crap, and re-pluged in the clock, and now nothing! Without going through each fuse to check if I have blown anything is there any special wiring that i should be aware of, like should i hook up something else?

Thanks for your help!

Did you pull power from the wires going to the clock? If so, then check where you spliced it in (and consequently removed it). I'm guessing one of two things:

1) You've knocked it and have managed to cut power to the clock, or

2) You've left a non-insulated bit of wire floating around and it's shorted on something and blown a fuse.

Check the fuse first, failing that, pull out the test light/multimeter...

Allrighty then, Here's what I did:

1. I have not cut any wire off the clock but did not know if any previous owners had or not, nope still looks like it is stock, no cut wires there.

2. Checked all other wires for loose ends that could short, nope both constant and acc power to the stereo were taped up good and proper.

Both 1 and 2 were really easy to do with a gaping hole where the stereo is supposed to be :D

3. Big thanks to strutto for the Skyline FAQ, So I went and looked at the fuse box translation and lo and behold, the fuse I thought was accessories power was in fact electronics, and so when I checked the audio fuse, duh it was blown.

And now I have my dash clock back! Thanks guys for helping me out, I am really new to actually doing things to a car, other than putting petrol and oil in it, and it was good to see I was not ridiculed for being ignorant!

Thanks a lot!!

Woohoo! I was right!

I always blow a fuse when playing with the stereo... No matter how careful I am...

Revhead's advice is pretty much spot on... If you ask a question thats been answered 1000 times or is just plain st00pid, your bound to get flamed. Always try a search first.

As for team //GC... There is quite an initiation process. You must first propel your skyline down the 1/4 mile in under 5 secs. Then provide all current members with $500ea. Next comes the good old 200mph roof ride. And finally, the Evil Kinevel Skyline Bus Jump...

NOT! Just add it to your signature in your user CP if your on the Northside of the Gold Coast... It's just a dumb ass idea a few of us had not to long ago. I'm actually thinking of organising a SAU Team //GC Mountain Run / Cruise in the near future if anyone is interested...

I am definatly located on the "extreme" northern end of the GC :) and Added to sig and stuff.

I would definatly be interested in doing some cruises! Count me in!

And here I was starting to like sounds of the initiation process, just to have it all dashed away like dust in the wind :)

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
