Try putting a fuse in there, it's will be the fuse blown or missing causing the problem. If you put a fuse in and it blows then you have a short somewhere.

Have you installed a new CD player recently? There is a wire behind the stereo, which is a earth with ignition off and a power with ignition on or vice versa and is easily mistaken for something it is not. So when this wire is used incorrectly in a cd player install, it blows the parking light fuse.

Have you checked fuses inside the car and under the hood? I know on 33's that particular fuse is in the boot, not inside the car.

grab a multimeter and try a continuity test in figgerent parts of the circuit.

This will help diagnose where the problem is.

You may have to take the dash out.

It may be as simple as a blown gobe.

This is not a nice exercise.

Best of luck

yes i did install a cd player, but i didnt drive the car at night untill a couple days later so i wasnt to sure if it was because we played with the wires, when i asked my mate who did all the installing he says it couldnt be. As for the fuses i have changed all of them under the hood after i did it, as for the fuses inside the car they all seem fine, which fuse would exactly be related to speedo lights, because in car lights fuse is working perfectly, so it might actually be a blown globe.....

1. Firstly, unless your mate is a professional or knows what he's doing.. It's not always best to be cheap and let them have a go.. Can cost more in the end. However i'd check fuses first, then just pull the instrument cluster out and replace a bulb and check if it lights up.. then if that fails, i'd be checking your mates wiring to see if he's done something wrong..

2. Ummm... What is it your asking.. Just replace the fuse if it's missing.. Previous owner prob blew the fuse and took it out and not replaced it

He has an r34 to and said his done it a couple of time on his, so i didnt really think to much of it. But i have replaced checked all the in car fuses today and they are all fine...., i guess its time to check the bulb out and im not looking foward to it.

Why not.. They are easy to get to..

Drop your steering wheel down to it's lowest setting.. Unscrew the surround around your cluster.. Unscrew the cluster.. Pull out and disconnect plugs.. Pull out completely.. Check bulbs..

Ok so i took the car to the car electrician and he bascially told me my Alternator is overchaging and around something like 15.5v, above the accepted standard, and he thinks thats what caused my bulbs to blow......, this really sux for a poor Uni student working once a week who wanted to buy pimped out rims and exhaust, he reckons 500 plus labour...... Im thinking i just Buy an original used and reconditioned alternator that these japanese distributing company is selling on ebay and get my family mechanic to give me a family discount lol.

Problem solved, the lesson to be learnt is if your not a proffesional dont go installing a head unit, apparently its done a little wire frying in the Alternater and fuses and bulbs. All fixed now, but its set me back 350 but its all fixed now new wires, propely soldered Head unit, new bulb in tail light and speedo.

    • My thought is if you were just moving it forward and the upstream geometry remained the same, then no difference at all. But because the current one has the filter direct into the AFM inlet, you effectively have the best chance of a completely symmetric air flow profile upstream, and in, the AFM, whilst the aftermarket inlet thingo has a (small, to be sure) bend between the filter and the AFM. That would bias the flow to the outside of the bend (downstream of the bend) which might well reduce the size of the signal seen by the AFM, for the same total flow rate. Having said that: If you're proposing to make your inlet look like a hybrid of your existing one and the aftermarket one, such that there is no bend where the filter is clamped on... then I say it will be just fine. If there is going to be such a bend, then, if you can align the insertion of the AFM blade such that it is at right angles to the plane of the bend, then there is a better than even chance that the centreline velocity where the blade is will remain more or less the same, and the velocity will just be a little faster to the outside of that, and just a little slower to the inside. **This is not professional investment advice and you should consult a suitably qualified ouija board, tea leaves or the intestines of a goat for more accurate prognostication.
    • Hi Tao, Thanks for your reply.  It's been a while and I managed to get the valve stem seals replaced with the head on the car.  Unfortunately this didn't solve my issue, the car still smokes a lot after idling (to be honest during idle you can see a bit of blue smoke from the exhaust), same after deceleration. I will try disconnecting the valve cover breathers, do I leave the PCV valve in? By engine oil drain pipe, do you mean the turbo oil drain?
    • What about if you just give it direct 12v and earth?
    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
