Hi folks, Im most likely moving to South Australia for work. Curious to find out a little about transfering from vic rego for my r33.

Are you required to have yearly RWC in SA? Is it expensive to re-register a car (as ill have to transfer from my vic plates)

Are RWC tough compared to vic? (for those who ahve done both)

What does the average rego cost in the Adelaide area? (about a 20-30km radius from town)

Thanks!!

Jason

We dont have or need to get a RWC in SA.

Its about $200 for 3 months of rego and just a little over $700 for 12 months... cant remember exact amount of the top of my head.

If you get defected and need to do a vehicle inspection it is tough there for some people - depending on how old and the condition of the car they tend to go over the car with a fine tooth comb.

I bought an r34 from vic not to long ago, these are the steps I had to take, but if your just moving you dont need to pay stamp duty. More than likely have to pay the rest though.

1. Get ID check done at regency (only if the car is registered in another state)

2. Go to motor vehicles (around the corner)

3. Take old plates off your car before you go into the motor vehicles and fill out the hand in plates form (saves you a trip and a waiting line)

4. Pay stamp duty (4% for ever $100 over $3000), registration, admin fees($21), new plates($21) and for the ID check ($think its was $30-$50)

5. Drive your car away

If you car still has registration you need to write a cover letter and fax it to the state stating you still have rego left, attach this letter with the form you receive back from the motor vehicles.

Hope this helps everyone.

For Victoria, you can download a registration refund form off the VicRoads website.

    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
    • Probably. I take it that they are also mentioned to be for R34 Skyline? For example.... RDA has that part as RDA7957. I have the dimpled and slotted version of that on my car https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285518478694?srsltid=AfmBOopKxMuAFpsxZJdB1cam4D5RAj1f9yJyOttPZLAwXVNCOiwlhrIy This is DBA's top one piece equivalent https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364246686631?srsltid=AfmBOorbb0XHQgqTvZLgQPhg70nqJtGvdojKnugum3O2LFSr2h-obp8D
