i agree, move the car in a clearly visible location but i disagree with the slash tires comment as the ass that did this to your car may be away and someone else uses the spot, you would make things worse with the locals or worse get caught, try talk to the tenants there, see if they had similar issues and see if anyone suspects someone, most times u will find an old lady that has nothing better to do than spy on her neighbor, with a bit of luck you might be able to park near her view so you can get free surveillance ..lol

+1, making friends with nosy old ladies is always the way to go...

And yeah, while revenge might feel sweet, if it's not their car, mistaken identity etc... Would suck :)

A few years ago my old car got completely done over by some teens at a local shopping centre, there was a witness but he was to afraid to do anything, they smashed a window trying to steal it and got no where thanks to the imobiliser, they keyed each and every damn panel, the car was in the shop for over a month going back to bare metal and getting fully resprayed, and it happaned again about a year after down one side of the car while it was parked in my driveway but i know who did that so im sitting on still untill this day......for now, i ended up selling the car not long after that.

i feel your pain champ, it broke my heart when i sore mine the first time.

Thanks for the light hearted suggestions, don't worry I'm not going to do anything because its not something I would do to anyone's car anyway. If I have a problem with someone else's car I would let it go or leave a note and leave it on the wipers.

But for those who are interested in this possible suspect (parked in the same spot for the past few days already), its a P plater.

unfortunately there's not much you can do other than make friends with all your neighbours and they will end up looking out for you....

Im not into damaging their car, Id be tempted to wreck them though, it wont get you anywhere, it'll just cause more retaliation...

video surveillance catching them in the act would be priceless...

video surveillance catching them in the act would be priceless...

i agree park it one day in the same spot and place a camcorder hidden inside pointing at the front and a little to the side and hope he will do it again this way you get Ur whole car resprayed on his sorry ass!

The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
    • I'd say it's a fair bet that the feed and return fluid lines will be in different enough spots that you would need to come up with a way to cut the originals short and adapt with new hard line adaption or braided teflon hoses or somesuch. But really, you have the car, you have the photos of the DMAX rack - you should be able to go out there and see for yourself whether they're in the same or different spots.
    • I've been doing some looking around and honestly was just considering throwing a new rack at it. I saw that the dmax silvia rack bolts up into the 33 with the silvia bushings but not sure if the high pressure lines will sit in the correct spot. I believe other version of the 33 rack are the same/similar to the racks that can be opened up without as much fuss so I assume the dmax rack would fit but any ideas?
    • I've never played with one, but I would expect that you are correct. That slot looks like it is intended to be used to unscrew the end, and the flats on the body would be better than grabbing it around the round bit with a pipe wrench. So, yeah, probably unscrews. You'll probably have to make a tool to drive in that slot.
