well i use the trapster poi on a tom tom running on a htc diamond.

it won't tell you about mobile police and mobile camera's but has the most up to date poi list.

on that phone i used trapster app and in 2 hours it amounted to about $350 usage.

tested it on my iphone4 which has a 500mb plan used about 70%.

I'm suprised everyone elses is using such little data whilst roaming.

there's clearly something going on with that app and my phones which is out of the ordinary.

not 100% certain but i remember some form of review for a bentley continental gt.

I think they come with radar detectors. so basically what can the cops do there as its factory fitted.

make you have it pulled out of the car. just because something comes from the factory with something illegal doesn't magically make it legal.

as for your data usage, that is exceptionally high. it may come down to the fact that it is a windows OS phone (pretty sure it is anyway), and the way that it uses the mapping (and how zoomed in you had it). but on android phones it isn't bad at all.

My Pro78 has saved me from handhelds, incar, multinovas and lidar (even have a video of it picking up the lidar from 185m away).

I have 16 driving infringements and 3 charges on my driving record (according to the cops that put the yellow sticker on my 32 ) but in the last 3 years since I got my RD, I haven't had any.. I'm actually back up to a full license now. They do work.

hey would love to see the vid, is it online? thought once the lidar hit you that was it, no time to slow down. im intrigued, i have one less infringement than you and want to keep it that way ;) somehow almost back up to full points now and nothing in last 2 yrs (all were with Audi weirdly nothing since i got the R33).

mostly its been from smarter 'when and where to give it a squirt' thinking but would love something like that for the unexpected. emmachizzit?

Jammers are designed to give you some more warning time, they jam the signal for a couple of seconds while throwing you an alert so you can get back down to speed, then it turns off so the cops can get a clean reading.

being from the USA but immigrating to oz , I have used a lot of radar/laser equipment and even know how to build/repair it

in USA

successfully jammed a KA band radar at damn near pointblank range while exceeding the limit by at least 30mph

and lidar at over 130mph in a 80 zone, in my stupid days of NFS RX7

(lived in montana which had no speed limit during the day at the time I lived there)

fact

you can jam laser and radar. including lidar. which was made two blocks from my house in usa. little bastards.

fact

it works but cost a bundle in oz to recreate, thousands !!

fact

not legal to jam it, if caught they will hang you !! and flatten your car

fact

not worth it unless you drive in the open outback areas at extreme speed, you will be caught if your the first car hit with it. and the above applies then

per the request they do sell legal Radar/safety camera which can be used in all states, since they have a off switch for the radar portion. it is undetectable !! if hidden well. which cost money to install, not a 5 min job. more like a few days worth

Bel and Valentine are some good ones but you can create your own jamming equipment, and no don't ask me too. I wouldn't do it for anyone !!!

I think OZ is over the top with revenue producing devices, and very nanny like. but the drivers don't drive in snow or ice, so the skills aren't the same

plus OZ cars have a lot more power then the average US cars.

really bad drivers and speed is a bad idea.

teach drivers to control cars is a better idea then a friggan log book and P' plates

hope this is bit more unbiased , I'm looking at one for my car but they cost a butt load here

and the iphone app is really not that great, I have it, dont even bother, just don't speed thru cameras

    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
    • Quite right, if you make it to that pension you deserve every cent
    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
