Hey Guys,

I'm asking on behalf of a friend who is looking at importing one of these..

We've been doing a bit of research, but cant seem to find any exact info.

Whats the difference between the Type S, Type P and Type SP

I know that the SP is the ultimate model, with bigger brakes, better suspension, front, rear, side cameras.

Are there any other additional features on the Type SP?

What are the key differences between the Type S and the Type P?

I see there is a vast difference in price between the models at auction, just trying to find out what extras he'll be getting for the extra coin.

you might find one where someones modded the seats, but i wouldnt hold your breath (can you imagine trying to find the colour and specs you like in good condition AND find that with leather seats?)

Or you could swap yourself... but you'd pay a bomb to get the seats shipped in.

Or you could re-upholster the stockies... but thats not always as nice as the factory finish.

When i bought my 350, i had the choice of premium or normal... i'm glad i paid the extra for premium.

So save up and just buy an SP.

Mate you should wait until 3rd week of january because atm local dealers are stocking up due to xmas and new year holidays in japa. The biggest difference is SP has bigger wheels (19") full leather, wooden insert, paddle shift. Not too sure about type P or S. If you want any help regarding compliance send me a pm..also i got 08 SP for sale...cheers!! :D

Sorry mate i cant reply cos i dont have access to pms yet. Bit abt car it is red with tan leather i believe it is one of the very few red type SP. it has about 8000km. It is 2008 type SP auto with all these features. Depending on what state u live in i want high 50s. This car was registered 2 weeks agao and has NSW registration till November 2011. mate i am very new to this forum i am not sure if we are allowed to leave our contact details or not. The car is in sydney. cheers!!

Yeah the suspension is same across the board although type P gets 19" mags too. i d go for this one if i were you? which year model are looking for. remeber 08 is updated model. manual or auto?? If you are in sydney i can show u the prices in japan. If you need a compliance i got mine issued this month so got another 95 for sale... ;) If you wanna roughly tell me ur budget i can prolly tellu what u can get. cheers!!

didn't know the type P's came with 19" mags as well, i thought they were the 18" 5 spokes?

thanks for the tip, went for a drive in an SP the other day

I must say its a VERY nice car, smooth, comfortable, loads of torque... perfect for cruising :blink:

      I read this and thought "ah! I will do this scissor jack on the tow point thing!" I just use my floor/low profile/costco jack and lift the car up by the tow hook itself, then slide jack stands under. Never thought about using scissor into floor jack combo :p

      Well, my new WMI system took much longer to finalize. I actually missed my dyno appointment last Friday and lost my 150$ deposit. I'll be going back in the next week or two.  To sum it up. I only kept the AEM tank from my old setup. I replaced the AEM pump with a higher flow/pressure ProMeth 30GPH pump. I also swapped over to a 6AN low pressure feed line to the pump from the tank. There's also a pressure switch you cannot see on the pump high pressure line.    This is feeding 6x 200CC direct port nozzles and 1x 500CC Pre Throttle body nozzle. All fittings are Swagelok, because well why not. I also have a 300PSI pressure sensor up front.    I now have my Haltech ECU controlling everything. I start my pump with a basic relay at 5PSI and deadhead it. I then PWM a 3000CC methanol Injector to control flow starting around 10psi. The pressure switch in the trunk, along with my tank level are safeties before I ever get to 10PSI, and then I use my pressure sensor upfront as a secondary safety to cut the WMI and corrections in case the injector blocks or a line ruptures.  Wish me luck on the dyno!

      So, I'm back with bad news. There's no jack long enough on this planet that will reach the front subframe. If by some chance there is, it would weigh 200lb's.  I purchased a long reach jack... The damn thing weighted 120lb's and was massive. Didn't even come close, was still short at least a foot. It was a pain, but I brought it back. Next I decided HA! No problem, I'll get an Extra long reach jack. Well, I couldn't lift the box... It must have weighed 160LB's and luckily there was an open box in store. I took measurement and was still nowhere close.  Sadly I've lost hope and have accepted defeat.

      Thanks for that tip, niZmO_Man. I think the battery is OK. It's quite a new one, but I'll check. Last time I needed a new battery, everything electronic was fine, except that there wasn't enough current to turn over the starter. I decided to order one of the partial AV system translation CDs from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. That might have some effect, or help me diagnose the date problem. 🤞
