Hey everyone

I have been planning to turn my 260rs into a show car for quite sometime. Some people know i have quite a large custom stereo install in the car but the funds have come through that will allow me to completely finish the car of to a show quality. Quite ironically though my showcar has begun with the purchase of a new engine for the car which is as follows:

RB2.8L engine

N1 block

HKS step 3 2.8L kit (HKS pistons, rods and crank)

HKS 1.6mm drag head gasket

HKS exhaust and intake gaskets

HKS oil pump, HKS cam gears

HKS timing belt

HKS fuel rail

HKS 1000cc injectors

N1 water pump

Trust sump kit

Tomei 280 degree 11.5mm lift drag cam shafts

Tomei drag valve spring kit

Tomei titanium retainers

Tomei valve lifter

Race cut valves

Race valve guides

ARP head stud kit

ARP main stud kit

Race main bearing kit

Race crank bearing kit

ATI/Ross pulley kit

Race head port intake and exhaust

I am still undecided on what turbo to run though T04z for streetability when its done the shows or a T51r for fun on the dyno at comps

The car will also be getting a custom 2 tone paint job (top:black, bottom:white with thin blue break stripe) all with white ice pearl over the top.

The car will also get a full interior retrim in black and white leather

Will keep updated with photos as the build goes along.

The plan is to debut the finished car at perth autosalon 2011

cheers daniel

    • Haha no I'll do that one tomorrow. I've been ignoring it. It's the 5.0 one I'm taking about. (There is a little X to hide the 4.7 one if you want)
    • So I'm going to have to keep ignoring the 4.7 update, or whatever version it is? Poop. I was hoping you'd put me out of my misery.
    • We have a huge update coming in the next few months, version 5 of Invision will be released. I'm holding off any changes until after this change as I'm not sure what features will be removed or introduced.
    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
