Its been along wait, but i now have all parts i have been looking for, the new turbo is fitted and my car (r32 gtst) is booked in for a rechip and dyno tune on thursday in sydney.

Last time car was on the dyno it made 137 rwkw with :

large fmic

vg30 bb turbo

standard cat in a 3 1/4 inch system

k&n pod filter

hks bov

11 psi

I now have the following :

bosch fuel pump

nismo injectors

z32 afm

chiptorqe chip (soon)

hks gt2535 turbo

hks dump pipe with separate wastegate pipe

high flow cat.

oil catch can

oil cooler

I hope to make about 210 rwkw or more at about 17 psi (dont want to run over 18psi on standard internals).

I think i have covered everything to make this sort of power, or have i ?

you should come very close depending on how high the dyno reads.

to put it in to some sort of persective you car should run a high 12 if lauched well with that set up

and the motor should be able to handel 18-20 psi in bursts

cheers

btw what size injectors ar eyou going to run?

iam not sure what size the injectors are. I thought they might be 555cc. They were fitted to the same engine that the turbo was.

I thought u may be able to tell me what the most likley size of them would be. They r Nismo and r black and yellow and the only numbers on them are A46-00 .

?

My car is at the dyno today and friday and i have been stuffed around by the people who sold me injectors. I have found out that they ars not straight fit nismo items but they are gtr ones that need alot of work to be fitted as they are the wrong impedence. I have returned them and got my money back but now iam stuck with standard injectors and hardly any time to find some more before car is rechipped. The guys at the dyno are going to try to find some that will fit.

Would anyone have a part no. for mazda 550's that have high impedance ? and will these bolt straight in ?

Where in sydney could i buy them ?

Thanks

Tim.

go to my website http://meggala.com/partslist.html

now you know why I asked all the questions cause i have been down this path I know what it involves. the high impedance rx 7 series 5 injectors should fit. good luck finding them.

they have red tops.all the info is on that page.

btw I hope you have a z32 afm or a fuel cut defend or else you could still be limited to how much hp you make

  • 2 weeks later...

My car made 196 rwkw @ 1.3 bar (19.5 psi ).

It would have been good to crack the 200 mark but it is close enough. Dave at SAS, has told me that with the setup i have now it is safe to run that boost as long as i dont plan to circuit race the the car.

Dave allso said that that other rb20's with the same setup and running 1.3 bar normally make around the 200rwkw mark on his dyno. So i think it may read a bit low as i would have expected more power at that boost.

SAS ended up buying and fitting brand new Rochester 50lb (480cc) injectors as 550's of any sort would have been difficult to controll at idle.

Car now goes like a rocket but i have hardley had time to use the power as soon after i picked it up from dyno it developed a boost leak in cooler piping which causes car to miss badly because afm is sending different signal.

What did the injectors cost you as I am going to get series5 ones.

Do you know the specs of the turbo, compressor/exhaust housing size, wheel sizes to compare to my T04e.

Was this the same dyno as you original post because it does seen low compared to other results for both setups

Injectors were $180ea. yes thats expensive but they are very good injectors and and i didnt have much choice.

Not sure of wheel sizes but exhaust housing is .64 and compressor is .60. (iam going to find out wheel sizes).

The first dynotune for my first setup was done in newcastle at SDT. (137RWKW @ 11PSI )

great to hear the beat way to gauge your power is to take it to the drags.

If you can crack 110 mph regadless of time due to traction your car is making big power I made 96 mph @ .7 bar drdrift made 108 mph @ 1.1 bar.

see how you go and if you run a 12 second 1/4 mile your a legend

Thanks man, that is very similar to mine, .6 exhaust and compressor housing. I think i will stick to the 550's hopefully they will be fine.

I hope to have my car done by the four six and rotor nats here next year in feburary, hope to run a 12 just like everyone else.

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
