+38 is gtst offset..

They will sit 32mm further out than say 33gtst rims (16x6.5 +38) would and 21mm further out than 34GTT rims (17x7.5 +40) would.

And 30mm further out than 32GTR rims (16x8 +20?).

* Figures have been rounded, I don't care about .25 of a mm

So they should fill the guards more than the 17x7 +30 rims that are on there?

+38 is too high for a 9" wide IMO. id go a +28 / +30 or so. i pulled 17x8 +42 off my RS4S because they were clearly fouling the struts in the rear

i had wondered if it would be too high. The guys selling the wheels said it would fit (via email, not looking at the car), but I thought I would ask here as I thought people would know more!

You want +22 or at least +30. Be aware that the awd has a narrower front track and I have 20mm spacers at the front to make them more or less the same as the rear. It may be different for the rwd ( I have 17 x 9in)

Mine is the awd RS4S that has the 17x7s standard with +30 offset, so if I'm going to go for a wider wheel eg 8, 8.5 or 9, I should be looking for something with the same offset or lower?

If you have +30 now and get 2in wider wheels with the same offset then they will stick out 25mm more. If you get them with +22 offset then that's another 8mm = 33mm more. Don't know if 19in rims will still fit (please don't tell me you are going to put undersized tyres on them to make them fit!). I think 17in is ideal but 18s can look OK. I like the design of the wheel you were looking at.

A guy had those on his stagea a year ago, his where 19x9.5 not sure of the offset tho.Try typing in- Fs:97' Series 1.5 Nissan Stagea in the Tasmanian section and it should bring up some pictures. You could even try and get in contact with him.If I remember correctly they stuck to far out of the guard and I don't think he was to happy with the offset

I was only planning on getting 18s I've seen a few guys in one of the stagea wheel threads with 19s which looked really good without having ridiculously thin tyres, so that's when I started thinking 19s.

Might go back to looking at 18s. I love the look of these rims, they were pretty much exactly what I was looking for, but they only come in set offsets so it doesn't look like they'll work. Any other suggestions are appreciated!

@ KIWIRS4T - series 2 RS4-S 's have the same track front and rear where as the autos have wider rear track.

i put 18z on mine about 2 months back, they are a tiny bit too small for my liking but have a baby on the way and dont wana comprimise ride too much. mine are 18x8" ET +34 they clear everything (and have brembo clearance for future brake upgrade) but arent quite flush with the body (they sit in alittle bit) but if i slamm it down the track they will tuck in the guards with plenty of clearance. id go for 19z if you can otherwise 18z for sure. without going for the "stance is everything" look with wheels 2 inches out the guards and a 215 tyre stretched on to a 9.5 wide rim then i would aim for a +28 or 30 in an 8' to 9" wide

Awsome, thanks for that. I might go back to the search I think, just need to find something with the right offset in the style i like.

    • Will have a look at that. I cant see any leaks
    • Put another overflow bottle (ie, a 1.25 coke bottle or similar) under the overflow hose and see if it is being pushed out there or if it is disappearing into the engine.
    • Staring on a stand is no issue. You just have to wire everything up, give it fuel and cross your fingers that the stand is robust enough. Arranging the inlet plumbing is often the hardest part, without any surrounding structure to hand some of it from. No need for coolant if you only want to run it for <1 minute. As to the gearbox - I think the little Aisin box is a bit stronger than the other small Nissan boxes that went behind SRs, but I wouldn't be too keen to test its limits with the torque of a boosted 25. I don't know if you can retain the box and the tailshaft. The box won't connect to the RB without an adapter of some sort, which is either a plate that will push the engine forward (which is not good for fitting it into the bay's available space) or push the box back, which messes with the box position and tailshaft length - OR - cut and shut work on the bellhousing, which is a long way from "least modification". I'd be buying a new 370Z 6 speed or similar, doing what has to be done to that to make it fit RB (ie, cut and shut bellhousing) and the requisite tailshaft custom/mods.
    • Hi Everyone I am from West Pennant Hills in NSW. Been too busy until recently to attend to my RB25DET Series 2 engine until recently. I am planning to stick it into the S15 shell at this stage, unless a nice SR20DET turns up... For now, i am going to try and get the RB25 running and working well then decide what gearbox to use. My preference is to retain the SR20DET  6 speed gearbox and tail shaft to retain as much and least modifications as i can avoid. I am an old guy and won't be doing any heavy drifting so i don't need a bullet proof gearbox Does anyone have experience with starting the RB on a stand? I got everything setup as much as I can with the info i can find... endless searching and videos on Youtube I would be great to get some pointers Cheers Songo
    • Hey all, Recently have had my s1 r33 gtr serviced and noticed my coolant reservoir was topped up to the max line. Took the car out for 1 yesterday and noticed today the reservoir is completely empty.  Any ideas? Radiator is full
