hey guys, im about to buy a totally stock R34 25GT (which i have read is the same thing as a R34 GT ?? ), Series 2 (made in 2000), non-turbo, 2 door coupe.

(i have attached some photos of the car)

im also thinking of buying the following kit to fit it::

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BODY-KIT-FOR-NISSAN-SKYLINE-R34-GTT-NISMO-STYLE_W0QQitemZ180615591949QQcategoryZ36475QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DDLSL%252BPSSI%252BSI%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BUA%252BUCK%26otn%3D20%26pmod%3D360335344382%252B360335344382%26po%3D%26ps%3D63

and i have a couple of questions regarding this.

1. Would the kit fit .. (ie. is there any exterior difference between the R34 GTT and R34 25GT)

- the kit itself is designed to fit a R34 GTT, while mine is not GTT.

2. Is there a difference between the R34 25GT series 1 and series 2 (exterior)

- mine is a series 2 (made in 2000) , so i was wondering are there any exterior differences that may result in the kit not fitting my car.

3. Where can I find a good fit + spray paint place in NSW (hopefully close to Sydney or Strathfield)?

- my first concern is that they are able to do a good job fitting the kit. . THEN .. also a place thats not too expensive?

- I also need to fit on a spoiler (along with the kit).

- and get the kit + spoiler painted.

4. How much (roughly) should a fit + paint cost (for a full body kit + rear spoilers)?

5. I'm also considering repainting the whole body into a different colour, so I'm wondering how much this will cost roughly?

6. Are there any legal issues with regards to body kits?

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance guys :)

Series 2 normally don't have the front-bar that you've pictured - unless it's different for non-turbo - but I wouldn't have thought so?

Series 2 front-bar normally looks like this:

There are also some interior differences - but again, I don't know if this is on both GT compared to GTT.

Bodykits between non-turbo and turbo should fit the same, though I had read anecdotally that there were some minor front re-inforcement bar differences for mounting the series 2 front-bar vs series 1. But given that's a series 1 bar - probably a non-issue here.

Ok this one is easy.

First word of caution about buying off eBay with body kits as there are a lot of people who have had problems with fitting and quality of the part

R34 GT, 25GT and GTT all use the same chassis so the body parts should fit.

Series 1 and 2 are exactly the same except for some minor cosmetic differences. Eg factory kit and dash cluster.

There are a few good places in sydney but I would reccommend body form aero As they do good work but are a bit pricy but it's one of those quality vs budget things

The kit painted and fitted can be anywhere from 1500 to 2500+ depending where u go

The only legal issue is making sure ur car is 100mm off the ground and with the kit you want that shouldn't be a problem

Repainting the car is a very expensive option and if your gonna spend the money on it you want to get the job done right and a high quality respray can cost in excess of 10000

Hope I covered it all

Here's my thoughts:

- Buying eBay kit might not always be the best option, because of fitment and quality.

- Depending on where you go, a bodykit sprayed and fitted will cost you anywhere between $1000-2000

- Respraying your whole car can cost from anywhere between $2500-$10000 pending on quality of the job.

- A stock spoiler is worth about $100-200. Spraying and fitting a spoiler is probably around $200, thats if you don't buy a stock silver spoiler.

- As for bodykit for your car, it shouldn't have any problems with height, as it seems pretty high off the ground at the moment.

Here's what I'd do if I was in your shoe...

Instead of buying a cheap Nismo "style" kit off ebay, and spending like $2000 to get it on the car, then spend extra few hundred to get your spoiler. I'd spend that $2500 for a BETTER R34 that's got all the options you want. That way, everything is from factory and you will realise that factory plastic kits fits 100%, oppose to eBay fibreglass kits might not be a perfect fit at all.

That way, you might even have money left over from that extra $2500.

As for a full respray... What colour are you thinking to get? If it's something factory, then obviously be patient and wait for a colour that you want along with all the other options you wanted. Or if the colour isn't a factory colour, then consider if it's worth spraying or not. Because with the money you spend on respraying, there are ALOT of things you can do to your car with that :P

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
