Well mate, if you like, we can do a dodgy, I pretty much have 2 complete piping kits for a gtir, we can always look at cutting them to fit with a shit load of silicon hose and clamps and make "custom made" pipe for it, plus I believe we could mock up some brackets of our own

Thats just asking for trouble, "custom Piping usually ends in leaks and pressure drop due to less than optimal pipe length and bends.

so is it carseldine this week?

Not sure what does everyone want to do? Me I want to play Gears 3 but I have to wait till thursday so I can co-op that shit.

i'm easy, as i pretty much in between both morayfield and carsaldine.

as for the customer pipe, this was basically saying that, if bodo really absolutely wanted to have a FMIC installed with little to no money, i have a FMIC plus pipe that we could cut and patch with hoses, this is by far not the best thing, as like you said would end up in leaks, but would be possible, as bodo would only need to get the hoses and clamps, i can supply the FMIC and pipe work, but in the end it is up to bodo as what he wants, these ideas are purely ideas and quite possibly bad ones, but ideas none the less.

Custom pipping may not be all it's worked up to be, specially if you are joining several pieces (silicone joitns cost). Might as well buy monsta pipping, or search ebay for the right length etc.

FMIC Ordered, hopefully here end of next week!

Anyone keen to make the meet weds/thursday? either of those days is fine this week, but coming weeks i will have to push thursdays (the mises)

im up for capers castledine tonight. a bit of a drive instead of just hanging around moronfield here. hopefullly chris can join us

im aware that doing a bodgy intercooler with far to many joins would be a dodgy. im just intrigued as too how well it can be made to fit. all those piping kits are aluminium arent they?? if so i have a welder that can fix that. :) i dont do bodgy, but if i can make something instead of buying it, i'll always take that option.....either because ima cheap skate or.....i dunno :whistling:. im sure the best possible intercooler piping length is, the shortest possible way. without going to many sharp bends. i'll see what Joe has there, and if its possible it will be a whole weekend project to piece together i think.

Well mate, I'll be going down to the folks not this weekend but the following, so I'll pick up everything I have, that's pipe hoses and cooler, I believe the pipes are not aluminum, I think there some sort or light steel with crome coating, basically the same as what I have on the line.

However, I might go down this weekend and pick them up as the boy is with the grandparents and I have a feeling I'll need to get him, I'll let you know mate, but I think I have enough pipe to do the kit for you

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
