Hey guys I know this is going to be a hard one but I have changed the engine in my GTR the old one did a big end, Long story short the car has been sitting for two years.

I have also put on 600CC injectors and a Sard FPR when I prime the car fuel sits around 45 which I have been told this is good. When I go to crank the car I think... I can hear spark.

Now what I wanted to know was the fuel is a little stale like 2 years stale I have tried to syphon it out but the tank doesn't allow me too and I cant find a drop plug. So I thought I would try and use it to start the car. Could this be the issue for it not starting?

any info would be great

I think you can also take off the fuel line from the feed line to the injector rail (at any point in front of the pump) and let the pump prime

My fuel pump primes constantly if I hold my key just ever so slightly before start (not sure if yours would be the same being a 32) but this may be a good way to get the majority of the fuel out of the tank.

If its impossible to get all of it out then try adding some octane booster and some fresh fuel, but best bet would be to remove as much of the stale fuel as possible

As above, changing spark plugs would be a good idea to :)

stick your nose in the fuel filler hole and see if you can smell it. horrible stale fuel gets a real acetone type flavour to it.. think nail polish or vodka kind of smell. if theres nothing like that then the fuel itself wont be your problem, bad fuel might prevent your engine from running as nice as it would otherwise, but it'll seldom stop an engine from running altogether. but yeah what the other guys said about the injectors.. if you haven't had the ecu tuned to suit them then theres your problem right there.

come to think about it.. the fuel sitting in my r32's tank is over a year old now.. still runs good when i fire it up.

Wonder how long he cranks it for - I had an SR sitting around for ages once that had to be cranked for a good 20s before it would start. I've also had an RB25 sitting for about 2 years without starting, fresh fuel and plugs and it started almost on the first crank. <3 RB :)

sorry for the late reply, The car starts :D everything was fine even the fuel which was sitting for 2 years it started first crank.

I was a stuped person and put the fuel reg on the feed line of the fuel and not the return which I now have it correct and as soon as I fixed it bam start :D :D :D

But now I have a few leeks I need to sort out :( My hicas system is leeking at the drivers side sigh :( and my turbo feed and return for coolent and oil are leeking :( I have the worst luck when it comes to copper rings I f@rken hate them.

well there is my progress I took it for a quick burst after I set the reg to 45psi and let the nistune auto tune the car for now and it feels very strong.

Be careful with the nistune softwares autotune feature, Its not meant to be a precise tuning tool. Just to help get a car started from a completely blank fuel map.

You really should be making changes to the kconst and latency to suit the new injectors instead of making direct changes to the fuel map, which is what the autotune does.

    • Out of curiosity, how do you cover up the inspection hole? Surely it doesn't sit open like that, right? With grime and dirt coming in and oil going out?
    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything
