A mate told me about www.greenfleet.com.au

From thier website:

For $40 (tax deductible), Greenfleet will plant and maintain 17 native trees on your behalf. These trees will absorb the greenhouse gases that the average car produces in a year (based on 4.3 tonnes of CO2).

Since most of the cars on here (including mine) are performance cars and probably use even more fuel/produce more gases than the average car i think its a good way to help offset this.

I have just donated double the average figure of $40 ($80) for this reason.

I'm not greenie etc.. and I'm not asking anyone to do it, just letting people know its there for the few others that may feel bad like me :D

how about i buy 17 trees and plant them myself cheaper then 40 bucks

Have you seen what they charge for even a seedling these days? $40 is cheap! :uh-huh:

I read about this organisation the other day. It's a great idea and they will be getting some $$$ off me to offset the pollutants pumped out by my fleet.

Just think of the difference it would make if everyone from SAU did this. :D

ferni,

I noticed you've just bought your gtr & congrats to that. But living in Vic & owning a HP car, you'll soon become accustomed to donating $$$ to making this a better place to live. In no particular order..

1. EPA - for your emission test when you receive the quarterly letter.

2. Vic Police - blow off valves, air intake mods, intercooler mods, boost controller mods.

3. Petrol - a portion goes back into making our roads safer & environmentally friendly

4. Brax - Speeding related matters, your funds will be used the same as No. 3

5. City Link - Unregistered vehicle Fines, In case you forget to top up your account. You'll have to donate a hundred dollars to making city link a user & environmentally friendly place to drive.

So, personally I wouldn't bother with planting a couple of trees here & there, Vitorians do more than any other state in donating to preserving & bettering our environment.

Go Brax & Friends!

meshmesh: good points

1. EPA - whats the quarterly letter? is this taking the piss saying i'll be getting done for EPA's every few months?

2. Vic Police - stock blow off valve venting back into plumbing, no air intake mods - stock airbox, no boost controller/bleed valve

3. Petrol yes this is a killer - but i've got my car through a novated lease so all my petrol is pre-tax at least (along with maintenance, insurance, rego etc..)

4. Speeding fines - inevitable i'm sure - i've gone 3 weeks with my GTR without one yet - so i'm happy :(

5. City link = take off front numberplate - but i refuse to use a road that tax payers have already paid for.

But yes i get where you are coming from - damn government!

SS8_Gohan - 10,000 users? guessing not quite that :) - my guess is ~1000?

just a little sarcasm, to this sh!thole of a state. Personally, I have doubts about donating $$ full stop. Especially since the Bali Red Cross Fund Raiser, & more recently the AFL Football Clubs. You'll notice that most Organisations charge administration fees ect.. so by the the my $40 gets there at least 10-20% has gone into the bosses kitty for his new toys. I'm more inclined to offer my time rather than $$.

Ahh the old SAU negativity raises it's ugly head...

It's my money and if these people say thay are going to plant 17 trees then until I hear different I will believe them. IDGAF if the guy ends up driving 2 Ferraris it's a good idea....

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
