Haha I remember back when I was young (all those many, many moons ago) I went in my first 33 gtst and it just had the cooler fitted without piping :P

Haha I could could run a front mount, screw a pod filter to the left hand side of it and run my intake pipe from the throttle body to the other side... EPIC COOLINGGGGGG!

Btw, Happy New Years Toowoomba people!

Happy new years Tony!

Could be fake

There used to be a black vs wagon that got around with a front mount literally zip tied in.... No piping or anything just the front mount *facepalm*

That's just Gatton/bogans for ya

Bloody South Africans.

Well I just spent the last 3 and a half hours washing, rubbing the car down with a clay bar, washed again, polished and vacuumed the 32, all nice and clean and back under the car cover in the shed.

hahaha no go with the N/A mate, its got a Rb25det Neo motor in it.

Damn I was hopping you we're one of the cool kids :P

I kid bro, always great to have more people keen for cruises around the area :)

Continuing on from last years very popular dinner and chats, thought that we could kick off this year with dinner and a movie.

Considering that South Bank is cheap on cinema tickets and because they have decent food thought that that would be a good place to go.

Who: People who are interested in Skylines and cars as well as their significant others.

What: Catch Up for dinner and a movie.

Where: Grilled and then South Bank Cineplex

When: Dinner at 7 and then movie around 9:30pm, Friday 11 January, 2013

Why: Because its the first week back at work for a lot of people and we all could do with a break. It's also been a while since we've caught up, so why not!

How: Well, you drive to the car park and park your car, then walk to the restaurant. . alternatively, I'll be heading there straight after work so if anyone wants to catch up prior, we could always do that.

The movie that were planning on seeing is Hitchcock. They haven't released times as yet but they said that there should be a session around 9ish.

So, who's in?

  • 2 weeks later...

Righto guys, time for our first meet up for this year. Thinking a little cruise to a pub somewhere for lunch on Sunday. Need to get the Vspec out for a drive, it hasn't done 1km so far this year. Who is in?

Oooo...its gonna be tight. Got the front of one in pieces and the other is overdue for a service.

If everything arrives before the weekend and I manage to get stuck into it on Saturday, I'm in :)

If you don't you can jump in the 32 if you would like. Also I am trying to get some RP from Burstons, I get trade prices so see how much a 5L bottle is and will let you know

Thanks for the offer :)

I think I should be able to get the buzzbox serviced on Saturday at the very least.

Still waiting on a few things to rock up in the mail so I can drive the new girl instead.

Fingers crossed Burstons can get em cheap. I scored 5ltrs of Motul 8100 for $50 on the weekend off EBay but would like to go back to RP for the next oil change.

Good run today with a few of the TSO boys, top feed at withcott aswelll. Not a bad way to spend a few hours on a Sunday, thanks Tom (Tommis85) Nick (MeLar) and Chris (olloSKYLINEollo)

Yep was a top way to spend a few hours on a Sunday, was talking with to just before and we are thinking about making it a fortnightly thing. Also there was talk about going bowling and to mini golf

    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
