Chick in a blue natro R34 I know her personally. Not as a good friend or anything but you can say that we meet every so often for a little chit chat.

I don't think she's into cruising etc... Not too sure if she knows much about the skylines/imports either cos she's seen mine and never talks cars.

Welcome :)

Another member to the TSO would be cool especially one of the opposite sex - cos Humbla isn't really QLD based.

I hope you'll turn up at our next cruise, whenever that is. Its a pretty small group despite the amount of skylines in Tbar so you'll get to know everybody quick.

Me gots a strange feeling they have no idea about the TSO. Its a pretty exclusive club. Besides, not everybody drives a skyline cos they love the car.

Yeah I figured that she doesn't like to cruise or know much about imports. I actually went to high school with her. I know who she is but she has no idea who I am  Yes we are a small bunch, but still doesn't stop us from having a good time, and no dickheads as well which I am very happy with, well none except for captain natro and his monstrosity. Yep he has no idea about us, and it's a good thing that he doesn't.

Chris, does that make me a regular then?

Tony, nothing about you is regular. Refer to one of my previous posts, if you have a post on more then one page in this thread your a regular

That's what I was referring to Chris.

I said it before and I'll say it again, an LS1 in an R33 is like an Thai Ladyboy.

To explain your analogy, you think your getting a sexy Asian but well you finally get in there it's got more balls then you expect? lol

I don't know about you but I prefer my sexy Asians be ball less

Got the skyline out from it's slumber yesterday for some lovin'. Fresh bottle of RP, new oil and fuel filter and a clean of the AFM's and air filter. After all the lovin' and attention I gave her I went to take her for a play in the hills, didn't get to far as my usual haunts had water over the road. So turned around and started to head back home and how does the old girl treat me after all the sweet sweet lovin' and attention? By making a new squeaking noise coming from the clutch pedal. So back home and up on stands to try and diagnose the location of said squeak. After about 10 minutes of listening and checking things finally worked out it was coming from the clutch booster. So I got the inox out and gave it a bit of lube (bit of lube is an understatement) on the ram and pumped the pedal about 100 times and the squeak finally stopped.

This is exactly why cars are like women.

You do everything, show them all the love and care in the world and then 30min later, something else is wrong.

And then you spray them with lube and pump them 100 times?

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
