Major Skyline accident on Sturt Road ~11.30pm Friday night, 12/03/04.

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know what happened?

According to the 411 on the scene, two Skylines were racing on Sturt Road, between Morphett and Brighton Roads, both travelling at ~200km/h when they both hit a third car. One Skyline went through a brick shop-front, the other through a bus shelter and then a fence. Both Skylines were written off. Apparently 159 metres between the start of the skid marks and where one of the Skylines stopped.

All I know is that one of the Skylines was white. Does anybody know who was involved and if they are okay? Also the third person, who was, according to the 411, on their way home from work?

Hope everyone is okay. Doesn't sound good.

And expect even more hell from SAPOL in the upcoming weeks. They weren't happy. 'Two Skylines, which shouldn't even be in the country, were involved... Blah, blah.'

thats means the cops will be even tougher on imports:( lucky I drive 200 now:)

hope all are ok. these are the things that make it worse for all the import drivers out there who take care.

Well thats good shit thanx to the wankers that did this!

Although i do hope they are ok tho, BUT if your gonna drag do it in a secluded place or somewhere a lil less main

I think i heard about this on the radio was it about 6-7ish pm last night?

Triple M said a car was thru a shop

So any word on who it was and wheather they are ok?

that was bloody stupid...and a tragic accident..over 200km/h i think they would of already decided who won by that speed anyways....what happened to the person (was there one) in the third car??

it might hav been a very close drag i guess..

:devfu:

People are so stupid, its not the god damn car that shouldn't be in the country , its the ****ing driver that shouldn't be driving/owning the car!!!!...when will SAPOL ever learn this simple rule?!?!?!

--------------------------

Anyway to be honest I hope those who were driving are ****ed up, I hope any passengers are all ok , and I hope the 3rd car involved is ok aswell.

I have no sympathy for dickheads who feel like doing insane excessive speeds in a metro/built up aread... pure stupidity IMO.

I bet everyone would think twice about doing things like this if they had to go and face the innocent victims family and tell them that there life has now been turned upside down and they have lost a family member because some dickhead smashed into them at 200+ km/hr.

Anyway rant over.

Rob.

thats just stupid ! drags at those speed and drags with other cars on the road is just asking 4 problems . And yet another mark against our names and another six months of full on blitzes and over the top police harrasment. hope no1 wat too badly hurt , but to the people involved i hope u dont drive a skyline ever again because ur just causing problems 4 urselves and every other import driver in the country!

Idiots. What were they thinking?

I had a bloke with a VT supercharged GTR Commodore pull up next to me the other day at around 5:25pm in town.

He asked for a drag. I looked around and said 'Its peak hour traffic, its stupid too many cars around' he said oh come on just a little one. I said nar and took off slowly. Some people have no idea.

A few months ago an older bloke in his lumpy manual V8 HZ Kingswood type car tried to give me a run. Nailed him & backed off, I heard him winding up for the losers flyby, and fly past he did that made me look like I was sitting still. Came around the corner only to see a 4wd with a trailer that had pulled out in front of him and sent him in a uncontrolled slide for 100m over a 3 lane road until he stoped up against a tree on the medium strip (only nudged it causing branch to fall over his bonnet). Luckily there were no cars around. Imagine if he had killed him self or some one else. I would think I would be partially at fault. It goes to show you can't trust the other person to be sensible.

So be careful peoples.

its was my wife cousin, 21 year old with what was a nice car, ive only heard throught my bro in law and mother in law so far but yeah, racing a mate, mate pulled in front, clipped his car and bang, apparently cleaned up 4 stobie poles, in the process too....... anything to come out of this positive...... he and his girlfriend are alive....... apart from writing the car of and the 30 g public proprety bill he was also over the limit, so no insurance, he was usually so careful witht the car and only drove it on weekends, im pretty sure he knows a lot of the guys from autobahn mile end., they may know him as the guy whos dad owns rowe an jarmans. Hes a genuinly nice guy, got his head screwed on right but like many loves to go faster and faster. ive driven his car and fark it was quick he absolutley loved his car, but an accident like this is just crazy. Im so glad that hes ok and everyone involved is safe and well, yeah i know hes done the wrong thing and he was obviusoly doing the wrong thing but we all are a little silly and some time in our lives, but still no excuse. from what ive heard his dad when down to the wreckers to see the car and the guy there offered his condolences to his family. when he told the guy that they both walked away with 1 bruise and a graze he was amazed!

i myself spun out doing about 140khm/hr and missed hitting a stobie by two inches at the most about 2 years ago and yeah i too was pissed and heariung my wife scream as we slid sideways towards the stobie pole, and thinking the foolowing bay that our son may have become an orphan made me learn a lesson too. luckily i got awaya with a bill for two new rims and tires.

If a silly accident like either of this can teach anybody a lesson its a positive.

for everyboady sake, next time you go over the speed limit think to yourself, am i doing the right thing, next time you have a few brewskis think to yourself should i drive. i would hate for anybody to have to learn the hard way. Nobody perfect but at least make the effort to look after yourself and each other.

What were the two cars racing - definitely Skylines? Was the other driver alright? And are you saying there was no third car involved? There was a third car according to the police and there were definitely three sets of tyre marks.

Only one telephone pole was hit, but one car went through a shop-front and another through a solid brick fence - so I'd be happy with $30,000.00.

ive only heard there was two cars, his mate or front car pulled in front of him but clipped his front, i thought i was told there was a car coming the other way, might make up for the other skid marks??? that was through his aunty so its prolly be dulled down to the family, il find out tomorrow when i ring him!!!!

Ok so firstly, the kid has rich parents, and they buy him the car, which he is obviously not skilled enuf to handle.

Secondly, he was drunk???!!!! and DRAGGING at very high speeds. I know u know this guy, but i have to understand to me he sounds like the biggest fricken idoit/dickhead ever.

I never drink (over the limit) and drive! And then i dont go racing mates!!!!

I blame this on his rich parents that shouldnt of bought him a car that powerful. When people have to earn things themselves, like most of us, the owner appreciates, and looks after their car heaps more then a person that gets given somethin and doesnt work there ass off or anything like ive had too.

So thanks for nothing. Really i worked my ass off for a nice car. Due to this kids stupid actions, me and everyother genuine import driver wont be able to even enjoy their cars due to the adverse affects the cops are gonna do cos of this accident.

Well F ucken Done Jerk!

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
