I guess its Mikes M35. There is also a relay under the aircleaner the controls the attesa. If thats not working it wont turn the pump on. Which would keep the 4wd light on.

Correct, theyve tried replacing that relay and also the ETC computer from Ryans car.. still no dice. I asked Mike about it yesterday and he said they've essentially narrowed it down to being somethign wrong with the wiring somewhere. Its running in RWD at the moment, which seems to be the 'failsafe mode' that the ATTESA system goes into when anything goes wrong.

Has Mike checked the 30A fuse for power. Then the wire that goes to the battery. Aparently there is no volts at the relay.

Fuse looks good, its one of those grouped fuses (sorry dont know what else to call it) but did not check the wiring from there back to the battery sorry. Will check that when i get back to Adelaide.

Oh I assumed that the 30amp fuse in question was the one in the fuse box next to the battery?

Yes there is a 30A ETS fuse under the battery lid. Check that there is 12V on both sides of the fuse. The fuse might not be blown but it could have no supply still. There is also a contact that goes into the ETS ECU. Also check accessories will turn the relay on and the 30A fuse then supplies the motor through the relay. Have you got the wiring diagram and can you read one?

Ok, I'll bust out the old multimeter and check both sides (silly question but am I going to be able to even get the probe in to measure both sides or should I pull out the box and measure from the bottom or something?)

PM sent. The relay has a coil which operates a contact. When accessories is applied to the coil of the relay it will pull the switch in which is fed by the 30A feed. There should be 2 12v supplies at the relay. It works the same way when you install spot lights.

AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
