Hey everyone,

Well I'm picking up my V35 in the next few weeks and it has a Carrozzeria system in it with TV/NAV/HDD

I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about these systems? (if they play divX?, and if i can buy a hard drive for it or rig up a USB input). Mechanic at the compliance workshop told me that straight off the bat when he turned it on it picked up Channel 10

Only other question is about FM Expanders, is there one I can buy that means I don't have to lose half of the Australian radio stations? (eg: having 89 - 104, or 94 - 108)

Sorry if it has been asked a thousand times, I did a quick search and couldn't find much of use. Thanks!

Hey everyone,

Well I'm picking up my V35 in the next few weeks and it has a Carrozzeria system in it with TV/NAV/HDD

Firstly congratulations on your car man.. good to see another Brisbane V owner

I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about these systems? (if they play divX?, and if i can buy a hard drive for it or rig up a USB input).

I have the same system. Haven't tested divx yet.. actually only tested one DVD which didn't work in any DVD player lol so haven't really tested that out.. will update you when I can.

When you get this (fingers crossed), hopefully the owner will have sent you all the stuff that goes with it.

The unit does not work (Cd/DVD etc) unless the hard drive is plugged in (bottom part of display folds down to plug it in).. once you turn it on, it greets you in Japanese (mine does lol).

I have a friend who can read Japanese so will hopefully be able to turn that off.. apparently the menu can be turned into English but I gave up trying that in settings. If I find out, will post a how to.

Haven't really tested the TV that much however I think it may have more to do with the receiver (in the boot) than the antenna as I did a quick scan and picked up random radio stations but no TV.

In the boot is the reciever.. if you got the full system than fingers crossed it will have a reverse camera as well (mine did). It should be above the license plate. Mine came with a 10 stack MD stacker on the boot (lol, removed it) which then revealed the input for the receiver under it.

It should be all plugged up.. the main 2 for your benefit is VTR1 and VTR 2. VTR 2 is for the camera. Once connected, you go into the menu/av/some button than you can select to have either VTR 1 or 2 on or off. If you have both on, it won't display.

VTR1 you can use to plug to a phone or something. I plugged in my N8 which comes up on the screen (I had the A/V cables from a N95 than bought a 3M extensions 3.5mm female to 3.5 Male cable) and it's plugged to my phone if I want. Quality of the phone display isn't the best but meh, does the job.. and seeing as Nokia has brilliant GPS, will come handy but it was more so for playing music.

Haven't toyed around with USB yet but Ipod/phone etc should be enough for you as it will run using the AUX VTR.

Mechanic at the compliance workshop told me that straight off the bat when he turned it on it picked up Channel 10

Only other question is about FM Expanders, is there one I can buy that means I don't have to lose half of the Australian radio stations? (eg: having 89 - 104, or 94 - 108)

I haven't bought one yet as don't use the radio as much but will update you if I do.

Also the HDD should come with all the cables etc (it will slot into a larger unit which is what you use to plug to the compute to transfer data.. I haven't got the USB cable yet but not really in a rush.. mine came with a bunch of Japanese gangsta rap.. I"m not kidding about that lol)

Hope that is enough to get you started. :action-smiley-069:

For some reason could not edit my post, I meant Tuner in the boot, not reciever. The Usb input for the HDD is a cable for it is a USB A to USB A which I will Ebay or Jaycar it. If you get the whole package sent, you will get a HDD reader which requires power and USB.

Most TV tuners out of Japan won't pick up any/all Aust channels. You may be lucky with yours tho. Have a play when you get it & let us know the result.

If it doesn't work properly & you want TV in your V, I have another batch of tuners arriving next week which also have input for reverse camera, USB & SD card slots & outputs to 3 screens.

Cheers, Leon.

Well looks like I didn't get the hard drive caddy :(

is it just a standard hard drive in a caddy?

Also,

Sometimes the screen will pop out and sometimes not... is there a trick to that?

Thanks for your help!

    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
