I wasn't infering you had copied the Jenvey pleunum... Great minds do think alike though.

But it is similar.

Jenvey are one of the world leaders in aftermerket intake design. I have seen a one off Jenvey intake (in the US) for an rb26 that was amazing... very very xxx'y.

If I was going to fab from scratch an intake, I personally would look at the Jenvey designs and start there.... :whistling:

Either way whoever designed your's, has a good handle on intake design.

Cheers

Rekorderling by far?, this week im hoping to finish the stitching in the cab weld up a few of the floor pan holes, i am going to make some nice cover plates and nut serts for a few of the other holes just incase i need to run some thing later and will get started on the full rewire.

Does any one know if the abs unit has a inbulit computer like most abs units or if it has an external unit as i want to retain the abs?

Main hoop for the cage should come soon as well so i will start that after the wire up, depending how far i get on sunday i will cut the rear gaurds strech the inner skin and make up the templates for the wide body but see what happens.

I will post up some pics of the front gaurds as i wi be moudling the glas onto the steel frame of the old gaurds for rigidity and strength.

Xrated, im with you now the pick up running the length of the manifold hahaha sorry mate major seniors moment ?.

I was looking through there site last night they have some very nice stuff and if you did use that as i starting point i think you would be pretty much on the money.

Me and my old man did everything for mine, he has done a fair bit before.

It's a great way to pick up extra intake runner length, without running into the strut tower.

If only I had the skills and gear.... to make my ideas come to life.\

If you ever get bored, a direct comparison of stock v's your intake mani would be a very interesting read.

Cheers

I wish i had, after all the turbo was changed and everything i had thought about it and wished i did a back to back but bit to late now i think, i know it will make a big difference and give it allot more bottom end and mid range which rbs lack a bit.

So it should be good, decided today on a bright blood orange with black bonet black duck tail and just waiting for a quote back from provynil for doing the decals.

Im still

Umming and ahhing about black wheels or keep them silver.

  • 1 month later...

So finally getting a bit more done on the wiring and getting one step closer to firing it up after 3 years of sitting still.

Finished up the fuse box and relay board now and i have all the control box done and started the wiring in process, all the rear lights main and lift pump wiring is done and all the terminals fitted and now i am onto the front of the car, once all the front wiring is done i will make all the dash cluster and new gauge panels and wire all the warning led's in.

So it looks like the wide body is now for sale as due to the wtac class restriction i cant use a wide body in my class, so i will have to stretch the steel guards as much as i can to make everything fit.

The fronts i should get 20mm out of quite easily but the rear will be a challenge.

Had all the new gauges turn up some of the old ones will get the turf any way some pis of where i am up to.

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
