shaunpierre
ok well, got 32 gtr imported with stock cassette player which didnt work but would light up at night with dash ect... bought a kenwood to replace it and thought it would be as easy as my old gtst and cut and match up colors but that's not the case.. i could only find power and acc with the new kenwood cd player... so i bought the wire harness similar to the sticky one on this section of the forums and i matched all the wires all nice and neat from the harnes to the head unit since it didint plug straight in... but still no cigar it has power but head unit doesn't light up all or even turn on... where could i have gone wrong?? did i buy wrong harness? any tips i have hooked up cd players before and never had problems thanks alot guys:) really over driving with just road noise -.- Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/376209-head-unit-dramas/ Share on other sites
Hadouken
So if you could locate acc and power, did you try connecting them and then grounding the wire? The easiest place to test to see if you have power is to just find somewhere bare on the chassis. Usually in a screw thread is a nice place. Basically do this - Connect appropriate power wires, acc/power and ground it. If no power then youve got a problem somewhere in the wire harness :S Good luck Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/376209-head-unit-dramas/#findComment-5999957 Share on other sites
shaunpierre
yea i found power, acc and ground befor i got the adaptor kit.. and my new head unit turned on and worked fine but i had no sound at all !! i couldnt find out the speakers, i tested ALL the wires from harness to the head unit but nothing not even static. BUT when i got a spare speaker i conected that straight to the head unit and i got static so maybe its a harness prob any way i jumped on sau and saw the sticky and just re attached the factory plug with butt connectors and conected the adaptor kit.. but still nothing ALL wires are conected; speakers power acc ground antena all match up... :( fml Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/376209-head-unit-dramas/#findComment-6000867 Share on other sites
